On the evening of July 19, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize a program to return to the source with the theme "Lighting the flame of gratitude".

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, comrade Nguyen Duc Loi shared that to implement the program, in addition to calling for sponsors and benefactors, the program also has the participation of 3 newspapers: Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre and Nguoi Lao Dong, in addition to newspapers, magazines, and units of the Vietnam Journalists Association in localities.
During the charity program in Quang Tri province on July 19, the Organizing Committee visited and presented gifts to policy families in the localities. In particular, the delegations organized gift giving to express gratitude to journalists who are war invalids, relatives of journalists who are martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and especially the activity of awarding scholarships and some learning equipment to students in difficult circumstances.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that although these activities have not been held annually, they have been held relatively frequently and more regularly in recent years. Based on the idea of organizing charity, the Vietnam Journalists Association will try to coordinate with sponsors, philanthropists, businesses and especially press agencies and journalist members nationwide to continue to implement this program more annually.
"I hope this program will not only be held in Quang Tri province but also in other localities. This is a wish and a determination of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the coming time" - comrade Nguyen Duc Loi shared more.
On this occasion, the Permanent Vice President of the Journalists Association thanked the participation of comrade Truong Hoa Binh, former Politburo member, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, who always paid attention to charity and humanitarian activities for the community. He has a lot of affection for localities, families with meritorious services, and people in difficult circumstances.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed that the gifts given this time are not of great material value, but through this, it is also a way, a method that Vietnamese journalists and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association wish to express gratitude for the sacrifices of martyrs and wounded soldiers and contribute to supporting poor studious children and people in difficult circumstances.
Expressing gratitude for the affection of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the province, Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee affirmed that, along with the annual events held in recent years in Quang Tri, the organization of the program "Returning to the source" with the theme "Lighting the flame of gratitude" by the Vietnam Journalists Association, sponsors and press agencies is a very meaningful activity, warming the hearts of families with meritorious services, people with merit and relatives; educating the tradition of "repaying gratitude", "remembering the source of water when drinking" to generations of Vietnamese people.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity to strengthen and deepen the relationship between the Vietnam Journalists Association, journalists, central press agencies and Quang Tri province.
At the program, delegates witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement to sponsor poor households to borrow a credit package with 0% interest rate, totaling 1 billion VND between the Women's Union of Quang Tri province and Xuyen Viet Oil Trading - Transport and Tourism Company Limited.
In the program, Thanh Nien Newspaper cooperated with Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union to award 50 scholarships (VND 2 million/scholarship) to poor students in Thanh Nien Newspaper's Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship program. Tuoi Tre Newspaper awarded a symbolic plaque of VND 550 million, including: VND 150 million to the Provincial Association for Promoting Education to give to new students with difficult circumstances in the program "Tiep suc den truong" and VND 400 million to Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union (200 scholarships, VND 2 million each).
The Lao Dong Newspaper presented the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Tri province with 10,000 flags from the "Pride in the National Flag" program. Of these, 5,000 flags from the "Flag of the Border" component were given to border guards and people in border areas; 5,000 flags were used to build the National Flag Road at Quang Tri Citadel (Quang Tri town) from the "Flag of the National Flag Road" component.

The delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to express their infinite gratitude and deep appreciation for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth, blood and bones, and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country, with the heroic and resilient fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town during 81 fierce days and nights in the summer of 1972 (from June 28 to September 16, 1972), Quang Tri Citadel recorded in the history of the nation a shining milestone of revolutionary heroism.
Thousands of soldiers have remained forever in the heart of Quang Tri Citadel, so that the country can be independent and unified, and the people can be free, prosperous and happy.
The incense offering ceremony is an activity organized with profound humanity, expressing the morality of drinking water and remembering its source, praying for the souls of heroic martyrs who have forever remained on this land.
At the same time, express gratitude and infinite gratitude to previous generations, contribute to educating revolutionary traditions, arousing patriotism and national pride for today's and future generations.
