(GLO)- After 75 years of responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023), the patriotic emulation movement in the province has spread more and more widely. His call has become a great driving force for Gia Lai to overcome all difficulties and challenges to reap many achievements in all fields.
Exciting movements and activities
With the spirit of solidarity and unity, over the past years, the emulation blocs in the province have strived to excellently complete the assigned tasks. Mr. Ngo Khac Ngoc - Principal of the Provincial Political School, Head of the Emulation Bloc of the Provincial Party Agencies in 2023 - said: To celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation - the traditional day of patriotic emulation, the Emulation Bloc of the Provincial Party Agencies has developed a plan of action for 2023 with the main tasks: actively advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, building a clean and strong political system; promoting patriotic emulation movements associated with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh; Actively participate in competitions such as: "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views", "Press with Party building work, building the political system of Gia Lai province" in 2023...
Mr. Ngoc affirmed: “From the results of the emulation movement, the agencies focus on building and developing advanced models to promptly commend and reward; training and fostering to improve political and ideological awareness, moral qualities, lifestyle, qualifications, professional capacity, and sense of responsibility of the team of cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees. In particular, consolidating and enhancing solidarity within agencies and units to build a strong emulation bloc, coordinating and supporting each other to successfully complete assigned tasks”.

The Trade Union of the State Bank - Provincial Branch is one of the units that regularly launches emulation movements, especially the movement to promote initiatives and improve the working environment. In the period of 2017-2023 alone, the unit has recognized 63 useful initiatives and applied them into practical operations. Mr. Dang Van Song - Deputy Director, Chairman of the Trade Union of the State Bank - Provincial Branch - said: "In the period of 2023-2028, the unit strives to have at least 10 proposals and initiatives recognized and applied by the Branch's Initiative Council each year, bringing practical results. Through the implementation of movements, the Trade Union of the Branch strives to be one of the units under the Vietnam Bank Trade Union that is politically steadfast, leading in emulation movements".
According to information from the Provincial Emulation and Reward Committee, in response to President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation, Gia Lai province has strived to achieve many encouraging achievements, especially after 37 years of implementing the Party's innovation policy. The average annual economic growth rate in the 2020-2022 period reached 8.43%; GRDP per capita in 2022 reached 60.45 million VND. The economic structure has shifted appropriately, infrastructure has been invested in and built significantly, the appearance of urban and rural areas is increasingly renewed, modernized and developed. Up to now, 100% of communes, wards and towns have national grid electricity; roads to commune centers are paved; the information system is smooth. The whole province has 3 district-level units completing the task of building new rural areas, 91 communes meeting new rural standards.

The socio-cultural fields have made remarkable progress. By the end of 2022, 58.8% of schools in the province met national standards. The health care network, especially the grassroots health care system, has been consolidated and developed. The rate of communes meeting national health standards is 93%. Social security work is ensured, the poverty rate has decreased to 10.06% (according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2022-2025). Cultural-information-sports activities have received attention, meeting the material and spiritual needs of the people of all ethnic groups in the province and contributing to improving the people's knowledge.
Timely honoring of advanced models
From the emulation movements that have been strongly launched in the province in recent times, many examples of good people, good deeds, and advanced models in all sectors, fields, and localities have appeared. Following the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh: "A living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches", the work of praising and honoring advanced models has always been closely concerned by our province.
Most recently, kickboxing athlete Le Thi Nhi returned from the 32nd SEA Games to a warm welcome from fans after winning a gold medal. This is also the first gold medal of Gia Lai sports at the SEA Games arena. In recognition of the above achievements, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Hai Long decided to award a certificate of merit to Le Thi Nhi, in addition to deducting from the province's emulation and reward fund to reward 50 million VND. Previously, this female boxer was also awarded a certificate of merit from the Provincial Youth Union, a certificate of merit from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the Duc Co District People's Committee and many valuable awards. Sharing her feelings with PV, "golden girl" Le Thi Nhi - who was honored as one of the 7 outstanding young citizens of Gia Lai province in 2020 - expressed: "It was very touching to be welcomed by everyone at the airport. I have never received so many awards as just now. This is the motivation for me to continue to strive in the coming time".

This afternoon (June 9), at Hall 2-9 (Pleiku City), the Provincial People's Committee solemnly held a Conference to commend advanced models on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023); at the same time, the 4th Gia Lai province writing contest "Examples of good people, good deeds, outstanding advanced models" (2022-2023) was awarded to 44 works by 30 authors and 14 groups of authors.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation, this morning (June 9), the Provincial Youth Union organized a very meaningful activity, which was to honor "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings", summarizing 3 years of building and replicating advanced models in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the province. Mr. Do Duy Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council - said: On this occasion, 75 individuals were honored as "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" in 2023; at the same time, 10 individuals and 6 collectives were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Do Duy Nam assessed: Over the past 3 years, the work of building, discovering, fostering and replicating advanced models has been proactively and effectively implemented by the Youth Union and Association at all levels. Through movements, programs and campaigns, many typical collectives and individuals in labor and production have been commended and rewarded with useful topics, initiatives and solutions that benefit the locality and unit. Many good models and creative ways of working of union members and young people have been replicated, creating a spreading effect in all areas of life. Talking about the contribution of young people in the general emulation movements of the province, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union stated the orientation: "We must make the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the province increasingly develop and innovate, in line with the orientation of the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Youth Union. The right steps will create a driving force to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality".

As one of 10 individuals awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman at the program to commend "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" in 2023, Mr. Phui - Deputy Secretary of the Rubber Tapping Workers' Union of Tan Lap Production Team (Mang Yang Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.) said: He always strives to compete and practice to improve his skills, contributing to increasing labor productivity. From 2019 to now, he has continuously achieved the titles: Grassroots Emulation Fighter, Master, Golden Hand. The skilled Bahnar worker shared: "I think that if you want to be good at latex tapping, you have to practice regularly, practice each weak part. You have to consider the Company's garden as your own garden".
Mr. Do Duy Nam added: In the upcoming dialogue program between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the youth, the province will also honor 7 outstanding young citizens in 2022 as a worthy recognition for outstanding examples in various fields.
Effectively deploy key emulation movements
Assessing the emulation movements in the province in recent years, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council - affirmed: Party committees and authorities at all levels are increasingly interested in leading and directing the implementation of emulation and reward work; cadres, party members and people are more deeply aware of the role, position and importance of emulation and reward work. The movements are increasingly practical, effective, with many innovations and creativity and are deployed in all fields with diverse and rich forms, attracting the participation of many people from all walks of life.
According to Mr. Tien, the Emulation and Reward Board - the Standing agency of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council has promoted its advisory role, promoted responsibility, proactively proposed and organized the implementation of tasks according to assigned functions and tasks. The Board always pays attention to advising on extraordinary rewards, in which direct rewards are the main ones; along with that, rewards the right people, the right jobs. In order to commend and promote typical advanced examples, the Department of Home Affairs coordinates with the Provincial Radio and Television Station to maintain the monthly broadcast of the "Patriotic Emulation" column and the weekly "Good deeds around us" column; coordinates with Gia Lai Newspaper to publish 17 volumes of the book "Amidst the beautiful flower forest"...

In order to launch emulation to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2023, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation - the traditional day of patriotic emulation, right from the beginning of the year, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Hai Long signed and issued Directive No. 01/CT-UBND requesting all levels, sectors and localities to continue to focus on directing and implementing key emulation movements such as: "Gia Lai joins hands to build new rural areas", "Gia Lai joins hands for traffic safety", "For the poor - No one is left behind", "Cadres, civil servants and public employees of Gia Lai province compete to implement office culture", "Vietnamese enterprises integrate and develop"... In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also oriented to implement the emulation movement "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure; Practicing thrift and fighting waste” in the province... Based on the socio-economic development plan targets of the province in 2023, based on political tasks and practical situations, each unit and locality proactively develops programs and plans to organize and launch emulation campaigns to achieve the highest level of implementation.
