Before being appointed as Director of the Department of Market Management of Thanh Hoa province, Mr. Lu Minh Thu was Secretary of the Vinh Loc district Party Committee.

Mr. Thu used to work at the Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa province, holding the position of Deputy Director of this department.

In December 2020, Mr. Thu was mobilized and appointed by the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of Vinh Loc District Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.

In August 2023, Mr. Lu Minh Thu was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Market Management of Thanh Hoa province.
