Check information about illegal parking spots in Cau Giay

Kinhtedothi - Hanoi People's Committee issued Document No. 530/UBND-BTCD dated February 18 regarding the inspection and handling of press reports on illegal parking lots.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Cau Giay District to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and clarify the information reported by the press and strictly handle it according to the law; consider the responsibility of collectives and individuals according to Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee "On strengthening discipline, discipline and responsibility in handling work in the city's political system"; report to the City People's Committee on the implementation results before February 24, 2025.

Previously, the press reported that in Cau Giay district, there were nearly 100 parking lots operating without a license and illegally collecting money. Illegal parking lots are often built on land of slow-progressing projects, public land, agricultural land, and even power grid corridors. Many locations are "hidden" under the guise of car garages or cafes, making detection and handling difficult. Inside, they operate as legal parking lots with full services from canopies, monthly tickets to daily tickets, but all are printed and managed by the units themselves.

Not only illegal parking lots, but also licensed parking lots show signs of being transformed and violating regulations such as parking beyond the permitted area, obscuring signs, and using tickets incorrectly.

The fee at each parking lot is different, some places collect by the day, some by the hour and some by the month. At sidewalks and roads, the fee for motorbikes is from 5 to 10 thousand VND, for cars the fee is from 25 to 30 thousand VND per hour, at large parking lots the monthly fee is from 800 thousand to several million VND depending on the type of vehicle...
