TPO - In the campus of Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry, there are 15 species of water birds with thousands of individuals. The flocks of birds are protected for the purpose of preserving biodiversity, while also creating a realistic landscape for students to study and research.

The bird sanctuary is located on the campus of Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry, with an area of about 4.7 hectares. |
Waterfowl have been resident since the early 1990s, and over time the number of waterfowl has increased rapidly, creating a densely populated avifauna with thousands of individuals. |
Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry has identified 15 species of waterfowl residing on campus: Red-rumped egret, grey heron, great egret, small egret, white egret, egret, flycatcher, swallow, heron, white-breasted cuckoo, water pheasant, yellow-rumped grebe, kingfisher, brown-headed cuckoo and small kingfisher. |
Notable among these is the swallow, a rare bird species and classified as vulnerable (VU) in the 2007 Vietnam Red Book. This is also a bird species that mainly resides in the south, migrating and not breeding in the north. |
The appearance of a water bird system at Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry helps students of the school and students from many other places to study, practice and do scientific research. |
