The above request was made by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam in an official dispatch sent to the People's Committees of provinces and cities, airport management units, airlines, etc. regarding the work of ensuring passenger service during the April 30, May 1 holidays and the peak summer season of 2025.
Regarding the conversion of domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet to Terminal T3, the Civil Aviation Authority requested Tan Son Nhat International Airport to: preside over and coordinate with units to unify the conversion plan, ensuring convenience for passengers and airlines; supplement forms of guidance, information, and increase guidance staff so that passengers can easily recognize and avoid going to the wrong terminal during the initial period of putting Terminal T3 into operation.
Airport management units shall base on the operation plans of airlines to develop plans to increase passenger service capacity during the April 30, May 1 holidays and the peak summer season of 2025; pay special attention to the spirit, attitude and quality of passenger service; closely coordinate with airlines to promptly handle and respond to passenger complaints and recommendations, and prevent "hot spots" and passenger frustrations from occurring at the airport area.
The Civil Aviation Authority also requested Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet to develop a policy to support passengers in case they miss their flights due to going to the wrong terminal when switching domestic flights to Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal.
Vietnamese airlines are also required to arrange staff to promptly guide passengers, especially the elderly, women and children.
At the same time, allocate resources, develop plans to increase flights, best meet passenger transportation needs; monitor sales on routes, promptly add flights on routes with high demand, increase operations during off-peak hours and night hours; minimize delays and cancellations due to airline reasons.
Airlines must comply with legal regulations on domestic airfares; strengthen control over ticket sales by ticket agents; ensure that ticket agents' prices comply with regulations; and fully perform their responsibilities and obligations to passengers in the event of flight cancellations or long delays.
To the People's Committees of provinces and cities, the Civil Aviation Authority requested to direct relevant units to increase the frequency and operating time of buses connecting airports, especially during night hours of airports; direct inspection agencies, units, and local police to coordinate with the Airport Authority to strengthen supervision, maintain security and order at airports, promptly detect and strictly handle illegal buses, situations of luring passengers, overcharging passengers, and illegally increasing ticket prices.
Vietnam Airlines Group operates more than 3,200 domestic flights on the occasion of April 30 and May 1
On April 15, Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO) announced that it will provide more than 610,000 seats, equivalent to more than 3,200 domestic flights during the April 30 and May 1 holidays. The number of seats increased by 35% and the number of flights by 29% compared to the same period last year.
The increase in flights is focused by Vietnam Airlines Group on key routes and tourism routes such as between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and destinations: Da Nang, Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Hue, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Chu Lai, Dong Hoi... These are routes with high travel demand, currently the flight occupancy rate on some routes reaches 70-80%.
