Most industry groups turned down or were differentiated. The transportation and warehousing group was the most active.
The stock market on May 9, under strong profit-taking pressure from investors in the market, caused the VN-Index to fail and turn around to decrease after a series of 6 consecutive increases before.
Banking stocks were differentiated, with codes such as VPB up 1.08%, TPB up 2.25%; MBB, TCB, CTG, VIB, ACB, SSB up nearly 1%. On the other hand, some codes decreased such as LPB down 1.48%, EIB down 1.11%, HDB down 1.66%, SHB down 1.26%; BID, STB, VCB, OCB down nearly 1%.
Similarly, the manufacturing stocks group also had a clear increase and decrease. Meanwhile, many securities stocks were in the red. Notably, the construction real estate group also leaned towards the red: DIG decreased by 1.75%, PDR decreased by 1.1%, VRE decreased by 1.51%, CEO decreased by 1.08%, BCG decreased by 1.75%, DXG decreased by 1.78%, CII decreased by 1.18%; TCH, KBC, CTD, VCG, NLG, SZC, LCG, NTL decreased by nearly 1%.
Particularly, the transportation-warehousing group traded positively: VOS hit the ceiling, HVN increased by 5.58%, VTP increased by 3.25%, PVT increased by 3.02%, ACV increased by 2.89%...
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 1.82 points (0.15%) to 1,248.64 points with 241 stocks decreasing, 201 stocks increasing and 67 stocks remaining unchanged. On the contrary, at the end of the session on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, HNX-Index increased by 0.06 points (0.03%) to 234.58 points with 76 stocks increasing, 89 stocks decreasing and 65 stocks remaining unchanged. Liquidity decreased, the total transaction value on the HOSE floor was about 20,000 billion VND, down 3,300 billion VND compared to the previous session.
Foreign investors continued to dump stocks for the second consecutive session on the HOSE with a total net selling value of more than VND 1,706 billion. Of which, VHM shares were the most net sold with a total net selling value of nearly VND 1,257 billion.
