Thai Mieu relic is located in the southeast of Hue Imperial City, built by King Gia Long in 1804, is a place to worship 9 Nguyen lords. This construction is symmetrical with The Mieu in the southwest corner, is a place to worship Nguyen dynasty kings.
After many historical upheavals, the Thai Mieu relic was destroyed in 1947. In 1972, Lady Tu Cung (ie Doan Huy Hoang Thai Hau) and descendants of Nguyen Phuc clan donated funds and rebuilt the main structure of Thai Mieu on a smaller scale right on the foundation of the old structure.
However, over the years, this structure has also been degraded, deserted, and on the verge of collapse. Many other structures in the relic site are in a similar state, with almost no visitors knowing about them. The tablets of the Nguyen lords were also brought to Trieu Mieu (located north of Thai Mieu) for worship.
The leader of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that phase 1 of the project will be implemented for nearly 4 years and is expected to be completed in September 2028.
