According to Hanoi voters, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the planning of Noi Bai International Airport until 2020 and orientation after 2020, but so far the actual boundary marking has not been carried out. This has greatly affected the lives and economic development of people in the communes in the planning area.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Noi Bai International Airport Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, is being consulted on and is expected to be completed in 2025 (Illustration photo).
Voters requested the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with relevant agencies to soon implement the field boundary marking of the airport planning, creating conditions for people to stabilize their lives.
The Ministry of Transport said that implementing Decision No. 590/2008 of the Prime Minister, the unit that prepared the adjustment of the planning of Noi Bai International Airport for the period up to 2020 and orientation after 2020, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), has organized the implementation of the work of measuring, planting boundary markers and announcing the plan to relevant localities for coordination.
However, due to some difficulties in the implementation process, the units have not completed the above boundary marker planting task.
After Decree No. 102/2015 of the Government was issued, along with the conversion of ACV's model, the Ministry of Transport reviewed and balanced the allocation of state budget capital and assigned the Northern Airport Authority to continue organizing the implementation of the planning boundary marking of Noi Bai International Airport.
During this period, in response to the rapid growth needs of the aviation industry, as well as the implementation of the Air Transport Development Plan for the period up to 2020, with a vision to 2030, the Ministry of Transport has organized the planning of Noi Bai International Airport for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 through non-refundable aid from the French Government.
ADPi Consulting (France) has deployed the task since June 2019, reviewing the entire planning according to Decision No. 590.
The consultant also studied the plan to expand and develop Noi Bai International Airport with a capacity of about 100 million passengers/year (equivalent to some major international airports in the world).
Therefore, the work of marking planning boundaries according to Decision No. 590 will continue to be implemented after updating the planning to avoid affecting people in the area.
Up to now, APDi consultants have basically completed the planning scheme for Noi Bai International Airport for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has received and assigned domestic consultants to complete the planning according to regulations, expected to be completed in 2025.
Immediately after the planning is approved, the Ministry of Transport will direct relevant units to organize the announcement of the planning and coordinate with local authorities to implement boundary marking.
