Soothe the pain
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Trang (born in 2002) in An Loc ward, Binh Long town has been blind since birth. Although she lacks the light of her eyes, she does not let her life be shrouded in darkness. Loving singing, since childhood she asked her family to study music theory at the Association for the Blind in Binh Long town. After 5 years of perseverance and passionate practice, she has forgotten her own shortcomings, focusing her inner strength on each lyric to practice her voice and improve her voice day by day. “When I first started learning music and learning to play an instrument, I encountered many difficulties and obstacles. I did not get discouraged, I tried to get used to it gradually, then persistently practiced to be able to pursue my dream. Every day I progress and can sing in many places, making me feel very happy,” Ms. Trang shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Trang confidently shows her talent on the big stage.
Music has brought a lot of joy, helping Ms. Trang have more relationships outside of society, to exchange and learn, and to connect with love. She confidently performed on the big stage at the 4th Binh Phuoc Province Singing Contest for the Disabled in 2025. Singing solo, playing the organ and participating in a group singing, she demonstrated her stage presence despite her young age. It was her utmost efforts that helped her become a solid support for the members of the Association for the Protection of the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients of Binh Long Town to complete their tasks at the contest.
Looking at Mr. Cao Trieu Tuan (born in 1964) in Duc Phong town, Bu Dang district, absorbed in each song and each instrument, few people would have guessed that when he walks, he has to rely on crutches. Paralyzed at the age of 6, he still tries hard to study, even trying harder than his peers. During his elementary school years, when he was introduced to music, he fell in love and learned more about music theory and music rules. Not only does he love singing, he is also passionate about practicing the instrument. He can now skillfully use many musical instruments such as organ, piano, saxophone, violin, harmonica, flute, etc. His passion for music has helped him overcome disadvantages and difficulties in life and assert himself.
Music leads to success
With their efforts and passion for music, Ms. Trang and Mr. Tuan have won many awards, including the highest prize at the 4th Binh Phuoc Province Singing Contest for the Disabled in 2025. However, for them, the greatest prize is to overcome their own limits. After the contest, they confidently returned to continue their lives with warmer luggage.
Not only passionate about art, Mr. Tuan has also been the owner of an advertising printing facility for nearly 25 years in Duc Phong town. The small facility helps him and his wife raise their two children to complete their education. His eldest daughter has graduated from university and is currently working in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Tuan confided that each person has a destiny. Unfortunately, he has a physical disability, so he has to try many times harder than normal people to change his destiny. Everyone is the same, they have to try to rise up in many different ways to be more confident in this life.

Mr. Tuan is also always ready to support and “inspire” those who share the same passion and interests, especially the disabled. For him, loving music is a spiritual medicine that helps him overcome his own limitations, making life more joyful.
Mr. Luong Van Ba, Vice President of the Association for the Support of the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients of Bu Dang District, said that Mr. Tuan has inspired everyone to strive to improve their lives. With his determination, he has researched suitable production and business methods and also created jobs for others.
On stage or in everyday life, music is a precious medicine that helps Mr. Tuan feel confident in life.
Ms. Do Thi Nguyen, Director of the Department of Health, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 4th Provincial Singing Contest for People with Disabilities in 2025, affirmed: In recent years, the Party, the State and local authorities have had many important policies and guidelines to support and create conditions for people with disabilities to develop comprehensively and equally. All levels and sectors from the central to local levels have been implementing many practical programs, including strengthening health care activities, rehabilitation, supporting means of transportation to help people with disabilities have more favorable living conditions; expanding cultural, artistic and sports movements for people with disabilities, creating an environment for them to demonstrate their talents, exchange and integrate into the community.
