Thua Thien - Hue Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) inaugurated passenger terminal T2 of Phu Bai port, with a capacity of 5 million passengers per year, on June 17.
Located in Phu Bai ward, Huong Thuy town, Phu Bai port T2 terminal started construction on December 29, 2019, with a total investment of nearly 2,300 billion VND. The project was inspired by Ngu Binh mountain, built in the Hue royal architecture with overlapping roofs.

Terminal T2 has two floors, of which the first floor includes the arrival hall, baggage conveyor belt, immigration area, port authority, customs, VIP waiting room, lost luggage room, and security control. The second floor is the area for domestic and international check-in procedures, security control, departure, and waiting to board the plane. The terminal also has two waiting areas for businessmen and VIP passengers.
ACV has applied digital transformation to standardize business processes, such as: Support system to help passengers self-check in, self-check in baggage, automatic broadcasting system using Al to search by passenger name, application of citizen identification card with electronic chip, facial recognition.
Terminal T2 is connected to the aircraft parking area by 4 telescopic bridges, including 3 code C bridges and one double telescopic bridge, which can handle one code E aircraft or 2 code C aircraft at the same time. In addition, there are also auxiliary facilities such as car, taxi, bus, and convoy parking lots built in front of the terminal.

Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport is a key infrastructure project in the planning for the development of aviation transport until 2020 and orientation to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister. The project helps to improve the exploitation capacity of Phu Bai port to level 4E; meet the travel needs of local people, attract tourists and investors; create new momentum to promote economic growth of Thua Thien Hue province as well as the region.
