Attending the opening ceremony, on the Central side, there were comrade Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration; representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. On the Quang Ninh side, there were comrades: Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and localities.
Bai Tu Long Bay is one of the most attractive destinations in Quang Ninh province, with majestic natural landscapes, diverse ecosystems and unique cultural and historical values. Unlike the bustling Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay has a wild and peaceful beauty, very suitable for developing eco-tourism, resorts and experiences. Therefore, the exploitation of new tourist itineraries will not only help tourists have more options when coming to Quang Ninh but also contribute to increasing the economic and tourism value of Van Don district.
New tourist itineraries on Bai Tu Long Bay have been launched, including: Ao Tien Port - Tay Hoi Island - Lucky Cat Islet (Lazy Cat Islet) - Ban Sen Island - Nha Tro Cave; Ao Tien Port - Phat Co Cave - Pearl Farm (Black Stone Islet) - Lao Vong Canal - Dua Islet (Du Islet) - Minh Chau Island; Ao Tien Port - Lao Vong Canal fishing village - Big Tra Ngo Island - Thien Nga Islet; Ao Tien Port - Cai De area - Mang Ha overnight anchorage; Ao Tien Port - Tra Than lagoon (Big Tra Ngo Island) - Cai Lim beach - Mang Ha overnight anchorage - Cai De area.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Bai Tu Long Bay tourism tours, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Van Don District is one of the four key tourism centers of Quang Ninh, owning an important part of Bai Tu Long Bay - a beautiful and unique sea and island area, notable for its system of large and small land islands, pristine beaches and precious nature reserves. Bai Tu Long Bay is a bay with special tourism value because it is also an important area for ecological conservation, closely associated with historical and cultural values of the sea and islands. In particular, Bai Tu Long National Park, recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park, is one of the bright spots in Vietnam's nature conservation work.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized that over the past 10 years, Van Don district has built modern infrastructure with Van Don International Airport, Ao Tien International Port, service areas, new urban areas, etc. to meet the needs of tourists. That is the premise for more than 2 years of active preparation by Quang Ninh province, directly Van Don district, departments, branches and the positivity of many businesses, travel agencies, and cruise lines, Quang Ninh province has launched unique sightseeing and tourism routes on Bai Tu Long Bay.
This is one of the important steps in the roadmap to achieve the goal of welcoming 20 million tourists by 2025, associated with increasing tourism products, extending the length of stay, increasing tourist spending, along with improving the quality of products and services for tourists; contributing to promoting the economic development of Quang Ninh, improving the quality of people's lives and affirming Quang Ninh as a leading tourist destination in Vietnam.
The launch of the sightseeing and tourism route on Bai Tu Long Bay will also help to maximize the value of tourism resources, continue to build unique and classy tourism products in accordance with the sustainable tourism development strategy, linking exploitation with protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. At the same time, build tourism itineraries connecting heritage, creating new and attractive experiences for tourists, contributing to promoting the development of the tourism industry in localities in the province such as Cam Pha city, Van Don district, Co To district and other areas.
Immediately after the opening ceremony of Bai Tu Long Bay tourism itineraries, Ao Tien International Passenger Port will have tourist boats serving visitors to Bai Tu Long Bay every day. On the occasion of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, new tourist boats will be added to serve visitors, with additional dinner services on board. In 2025, the province and relevant departments, agencies and localities will complete overnight anchorage points to develop overnight boat products on Bai Tu Long Bay.
