( Bqp.vn ) - As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, on the evening of December 20, at Ba Kieu Temple Stage (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held the opening ceremony of the Exhibition on 80 years of culture and arts of the Vietnam People's Army.

Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were: General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Also attending were leaders of central ministries, departments, branches, and Hanoi city.

The opening ceremony was opened with a grand and elaborate art program with the theme “80 years of the Heroic Song of Soldiers and Artists” performed by actors, artists of the Army and students of the Political Officer School. The performances recreated and honored the dedication and contributions of the soldiers and artists of the Vietnam People’s Army on the ideological and cultural front of the Party; the role of culture, literature and art of the Army in the revolutionary cause of the nation, in building and defending the Fatherland, and building a national defense for all people.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet emphasized: Over the past 80 years, along with the birth, growth and development of the Vietnam People's Army, under the direction and guidance of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and directly the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, generations of "soldiers - artists" have gone through long resistance wars and built a powerful cultural and artistic army, becoming a special force with the power to encourage, motivate and call on the masses to participate in the struggle for national liberation and national reunification.
Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet delivered the opening speech of the exhibition.
Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet affirmed that the Army is not only the cradle that produces talented generals but also the cradle that nurtures the souls and talents of "soldiers - artists"; with the achieved results, Army culture and arts have truly become the "mainstream" of Vietnamese revolutionary culture and arts. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet believes that the exhibition will be a "red address" that lights up the souls of every Vietnamese citizen about love for the homeland, pride in the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, and the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting, winning, and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army; practically preserving and developing advanced Vietnamese culture, literature and arts, imbued with national identity, enriching and shining the values of Vietnamese revolutionary culture and arts in the Ho Chi Minh era.
