Kinhtedothi-On the morning of November 16, at the stage of the Quyet Tu Monument area, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, the opening ceremony of the Kanagawa Festival 2024 took place. This is a unique cultural and artistic event held annually in Vietnam by the Kanagawa Provincial Government (Japan) in coordination with Hanoi City.
Attending the program were Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Embassy of Japan in Vietnam Ito Naoki.
On the Hanoi side, there were Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Tourism.
On the Kanagawa side, there were Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture; Mr. Koizumi Toshiaki, International Policy Advisor, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, expressed his sincere thanks to the Hanoi government for cooperating in organizing the event so that Kanagawa Prefecture has the opportunity to promote culture.
According to Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Kanagawa province is a miniature of Japan with a typical big city like Yokohama; at the same time, it also has a rural area, with the famous Shonan coast and rolling mountains...
Over the past time, Kanagawa Prefecture and Vietnam have built a very good relationship. Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji expressed his hope that the 2024 Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi will contribute to promoting cultural exchange between the two localities; attracting the attention of many people.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha affirmed that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan is at its best in history with high trust, expansion and development in many fields. It was especially marked when the two sides agreed to upgrade the relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" in November 2023.
On the basis of the good cooperative relationship between the two countries, Hanoi City is interested in promoting cooperation with Japanese localities; determining that the cooperative relationship between Hanoi City and Japanese localities and partners is not only of foreign political nature but also of profound practicality, reflected in many similarities in development orientation and the ability to actively support each other in construction and development.
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, officially initiated in 2018, the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi has become a regular event, leaving a good impression on the hearts of the capital's public; opening the way for a good friendship between Hanoi and Kanagawa province.
The Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi in 2024 has a special significance, taking place in the context of Hanoi City and Kanagawa Prefecture having just successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing friendly and cooperative relations in October 2024, creating a framework for bilateral cooperation in many fields: economy, investment, health care, tourism, arts and culture and people-to-people exchange, contributing to the socio-economic development of the two localities in the coming time.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council expressed his hope that the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi will truly become a typical cooperation activity in cultural and people-to-people exchange; continuing to contribute to building a solid social foundation, enhancing understanding and promoting bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
The 2024 Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi will take place on November 16 and 17 with many special activities such as: experiencing Yukata (a unique traditional costume of Japan); booths introducing unique cultural and culinary products of Kanagawa province...
