(CLO) On the evening of November 9, the 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival with the theme "The Land of Missing Flowers" opened at the central square of Dong Van town (Ha Giang).
The Buckwheat Flower Festival is a major event to honor the cultural and humanistic values of the Dong Van Stone Plateau, especially the landscape value of buckwheat flowers.

A special art program showing the strong vitality of ethnic minorities on the Dong Van Stone Plateau and the beauty of buckwheat flowers was held on November 9.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be a competition to perform and introduce traditional costumes of ethnic groups in the district; activities to experience linen weaving, brocade embroidery; making household items and traditional musical instruments; displaying and introducing local products in the Dong Van Ancient Town area.
In order to create favorable conditions for tourists to visit and take photos, the districts have arranged convenient flower planting locations such as the Heaven's Gate stop, Thach Son Than tourist site, Quan Ba district; on both sides of the roads of Pho Cao, Sung La, Lung Cu communes, Dong Van district; Mong ethnic community cultural tourism village, Pa Vi Ha village, Pa Vi commune, Meo Vac district...
Dong Van is a district with a particularly important geographical position, the northernmost point of the country. Through geological formations, the creative labor of local people, and changes in nature and society, Dong Van district has created available and attractive resources for tourism development.
This is also the core district of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark with many geological heritages such as Van Chai stone book, Sa Phin moon rock field, Ma Le hand fossil and many famous landmarks such as Lung Cu National Flagpole, Dong Van Ancient Town, Sa Phin King's House.
The festival is also an opportunity for artisans, actors, mass athletes and local people to meet, exchange experiences, raise awareness in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, and strengthen the great solidarity of ethnic groups.

In particular, with many unique and rich activities, the Buckwheat Flower Festival promises to bring visitors real experiences as well as to immerse themselves in nature, immersed in purple-pink flower carpets interwoven among the immense stone forest to enjoy the majesty of the land and sky, contribute more knowledge about indigenous culture and continue the new journey back to Ha Giang.
Ha Giang wants to use the buckwheat flower symbol to honor and praise the land and people who have overcome all difficulties, united to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and maintain the northernmost borderland of the Fatherland.
