The incident happened after the referee blew the whistle to end the Turkish Cup quarter-final match with Galatasaray winning 2-1 against Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho went up to pinch the nose of Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk.
Too surprised by coach Mourinho's actions, Mr. Buruk reacted by falling to the ground. Coach Mourinho was then stopped and taken off the field amid fierce reactions from Galatasaray players.
Mourinho's attack on his rival coach was the climax of the tense match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the early morning of April 3.

Earlier, in extra time, when Fenerbahce was trailing 1-2, a scuffle broke out between the two teams. The referee was forced to show red cards to two Galatasaray players and one Fenerbahce player. All three players did not play on the field when they received the red cards.
The conflict between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce has escalated recently when coach Mourinho continuously made offensive statements to his opponent. Mr. Mourinho said that Galatasaray received favor from the Turkish Football Federation.
This is not the first time coach Mourinho has attacked a colleague. In the past, the "special one" created a big scandal when he poked Barca coach Tito Vilanova in the eye during the second leg of the 2011 Spanish Super Cup.
