(CLO) On November 7, the Israeli Ministry of Defense said it had signed an agreement to purchase 25 next-generation F-15 fighter jets from Boeing.
The $5.2 billion deal is part of a larger aid package approved by the administration and Congress earlier this year that includes an option to buy 25 more aircraft, the report said.

The aircraft will be equipped with weapons systems integrated with Israel's existing weapons and will have a greater range and payload.
“These advantages will allow the Israeli Air Force to maintain strategic superiority in addressing current and future challenges in the Middle East,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that deliveries of the F-15s will begin in 2031, with four to six aircraft delivered annually.
“This F-15 squadron, along with the third F-35 squadron acquired earlier this year, represents a historic increase in our air power and strategic reach, capabilities that have proven vital in today’s war,” Israel Defense Ministry Director General Eyal Zamir said in a statement.
