Speaking to Il Giorno on June 9, Moratti is confident that Inter will play well. He believes that some of the failures in Serie A over the past two months have been due to scheduling issues and the use of many substitutes. "I have confidence because Inter have caused surprises in important matches," Moratti added. "Thinking about Inter in the Champions League this season, if I were their opponent, I would be scared."
For the 78-year-old former president, Inter's biggest problem in the final is the quality of Man City's players. He was impressed by the English team's recent exploits of 21-year-old Cole Palmer. Moratti also admires rival coach Pep Guardiola, but insists he is confident in Inter. "Anything can happen in a one-legged final," the Italian oil tycoon stressed.

According to Moratti, reaching the Champions League final is a proud achievement. The joy was even greater when Inter overcame city rivals AC Milan in the semi-finals. 20 years ago, when Moratti was President, Inter lost to AC Milan in the semi-finals.
Moratti praised Inter coach Simone Inzaghi for doing a good job, despite not winning Serie A. Since then, he has changed his view of the 47-year-old coach.
Moratti also praised current chairman Steven Zhang and the club's owner, Suning. Under his new ownership, Inter have won Serie A, the Italian Cup, the Italian Super Cup and reached the final of two European Cups. "I find it unfair to criticise Zhang. When we talk about a big Inter squad, the credit goes to the chairman and whoever was willing to bring them in," Moratti said.
Inter will face Manchester City in the Champions League final at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Türkiye today. Under Moratti's father, Angelo, the Italian club won two European Cups in 1964 and 1965. Under Moratti in 2010, Inter won their third European Cup. Inter lost two other finals in 1967 and 1972.
According to bookmaker Ladbrokes , Inter are the underdogs heading into the final. The odds for Inter to win in 90 minutes are just 7/1 (bet one to win seven). Meanwhile, Man City's odds are 2/5.
This season, Man City have won the Premier League and the FA Cup. If they beat Inter, the English team will win the treble like Inter did in 2009-2010. The other six treble winners include Celtic in 1966-1967, Ajax in 1971-1972, PSV in 1987-1988, Man Utd in 1998-1999, Barca in 2008-2009, 2014, 2015 and Bayern in 2012-2013, 2019-2020.
Inter finished third in Serie A. But Inzaghi's team won two domestic cups, the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.
