(CLO) The 3D scanning and digital photography project of Thai Hoa Palace not only serves the conservation work but also aims at digital transformation of heritage.
On February 18, news from the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that the unit is implementing a 3D scanning and digital photography project to build a digital database of the unique space and architecture of Thai Hoa Palace.
Accordingly, the Center will coordinate with UALS Company (Korea) to 3D scan and digitally photograph the entire Thai Hoa Power System. The project will be implemented until the end of 2025. This will be followed by the process of building a database according to international standards, expected to be completed in June 2026.

Mr. Vo Quang Huy, Deputy Chief of Office of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said that this project not only serves conservation work but also aims to digitally transform heritage, helping to authentically recreate and preserve cultural values through digital platforms.
Thai Hoa Palace is the most important, majestic and magnificent architectural work in the Nguyen Dynasty Royal Palace, symbolizing the power of the court.
This is not only an architectural work, but also a place to preserve a system of literature and poetry in the unique decorative form of "one poem, one painting" that has been recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage under the Memory of the World Program in the Asia-Pacific region.
In November 2021, the project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic was implemented with a total investment of nearly 129 billion VND. After 3 years of construction, at the end of November 2024, the project was completed 9 months ahead of schedule.
It is known that during the completion of Thai Hoa Palace, UALS Company digitized a part of this project.
