Art for Climate Program Comes to Vietnam for the First Time

Having been successfully organized in the United Arab Emirates, France and Italy, the series of art programs for climate in Vietnam is a combination of art activities and environmental protection, thereby honoring and promoting the heritage value of Ha Long Bay.


On the afternoon of February 20, the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) held a press conference to introduce the Art For Climate Festival - Ha Long 2025.

Speaking here, Mr. Vu Minh Ly - Deputy Director of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication said that at the COP26 Conference, nearly 150 countries committed to achieving net emissions of "0" (Net Zero) and Vietnam is also one of the countries that have taken timely actions with the strong commitment of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

According to Mr. Vu Minh Ly, immediately after the conference ended, the Prime Minister approved the project on tasks and solutions to implement the results of COP26; approved the national strategy on climate change and at the same time, provided an overall roadmap to realize the committed climate goals.

To address this issue, the Vietnamese Government has issued a legal framework to implement synchronous solutions. However, to achieve this ambitious goal, organizations and enterprises play the main role in implementing it with the State's creative guidance.

Mr. Vu Minh Ly emphasized: “In that context, the Art for Climate Program - Ha Long 2025 organized by the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication in collaboration with Thai An Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company and Arsuprema Company (France) is a combination of art activities and environmental protection activities with global influence, while honoring and promoting the value of the world natural heritage of Ha Long Bay, thereby attracting domestic and international tourists”.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the event includes a series of more than 20 activities, held from now until June, mainly in Ha Long city such as: Exhibition of paintings and photos by Vietnamese and international artists; auction of artworks to raise funds for environmental protection and heritage conservation; and activities to activate the University Activation chain on environmental protection awareness.

Along with that are a series of events: Discussion on Art For Climate and raising awareness of responsibility for environmental protection; Competition on inventing waste recycling tools and machines; Scientific seminar on global climate change; Quang Ninh province investment promotion conference in 2025; activities to clean up the marine environment; planting trees to create billionaire gardens; activities to collect and exchange recycled waste for gifts...

In addition, cultural and sports activities in response to the Program will be organized, such as: Art For Climate Concert (with tickets for sale to raise funds for environmental protection); "Quintessence of Vietnamese Heritage" exhibition at Vung Duc cave; international culinary exchange with 110 booths; Pickleball tournament; Art For Climate RunShow fashion show; activities to clean up the marine environment at Bai Chay beach, Ha Long city...

Sharing at the press conference, Ms. Sophie Maysonnave - Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities (French Embassy in Vietnam), Director of the French Institute in Vietnam, expressed her joy that the program was held in Vietnam and hoped that the program would contribute positively to the issue of climate change and change people's awareness of this issue.

The Art for Climate Program - Ha Long 2025 is divided into 3 phases:

Phase 1 (from February 20 to April 17): Press conference to announce the event; exhibition of paintings and photos by Vietnamese and international artists...

Phase 2 (from March 1 to June 1): Online art creation contest with the theme "Future On Earth"; activation activities of the "University Activatinon" series to raise awareness of environmental protection among students nationwide; a series of talks on the Art For Climate event to educate and raise responsibility for environmental protection; a contest to invent tools and machines to recycle waste, aiming to reduce the amount of waste by creating effective and environmentally friendly recycling solutions.

Phase 3 (from June 20-28): Art For Climate Ha Long Festival 2025 opening ceremony on June 20, 2025; Scientific conference on global climate change; Quang Ninh province investment promotion conference in 2025; 2nd auction of artworks to raise funds for environmental protection and heritage conservation.
