Today, July 3 and tomorrow, July 4, the Northern region will have hot weather, some places will have severe heat with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places will be over 37 degrees Celsius.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that on July 2, in the North, there were places with severe heat with the highest temperature of the day commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius such as: Phu Yen (Son La) and Hoa Binh 38.0 degrees Celsius, Ha Dong (Hanoi) 37.7 degrees Celsius, Hung Yen 37.6 degrees Celsius,... the lowest relative humidity commonly 55-65%;

The area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen has hot and extremely hot weather, some places are especially hot with the highest daily temperature commonly 36-38 degrees Celsius, some places over 39 degrees Celsius such as: Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa) 39.6 degrees Celsius, Do Luong (Nghe An) 39.2 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly 50-60%.

Hanoi area today is cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and night; hot and very hot during the day. Southeast to south wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The highest temperature is from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places are over 37 degrees Celsius.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen has hot and extremely hot weather, some places are especially extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly 36-39 degrees Celsius, some places above 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly 45-60%.

The heat wave in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen is likely to last for many days to come.

Due to the effects of heat and intense heat combined with low humidity and southwest winds causing the foehn effect, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity and the risk of forest fires.

Besides the hot weather, in the late afternoon in the mountainous areas of the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 70mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas and flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
