With The STEM UEH Mekong 2024 Competition, nearly 400 contestants and teachers have undergone 8 training topics with the guidance of experts from the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, Institute of Innovation under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, listens to the STEM project presentation of the contestant group.

Teachers and students are provided with theoretical and practical knowledge about the foundation of STEM and introduced to STEM application models; mechanical system design; basic programming; sensors and applications; project implementation support; use of recycled materials, renewable energy towards the goal of a sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region, etc.

After 2 days of completing the project, "Green Car" of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Vinh Long) won first prize.

The two second prizes went to "Smart fire warning and fighting combined with escape model" of Him Lam Ethnic Boarding School (Hau Giang) and "IOT application in monitoring and warning of danger in mountainous areas" of Luu Van Liet High School (Vinh Long).

3 third prizes went to the projects "Semi-automatic egg incubator", "Smart home model for growing black termite mushrooms", "Automatic watering system" of the schools: Tran Dai Nghia High School, Pham Hung High School (Vinh Long) and Dam Doi High School (Ca Mau).

At the "Drone Champion Vinh Long" contest, the champion team was Hoa Binh Secondary and High School. Second prize went to Nguyen Binh Khiem Specialized High School, Phu Quoi Secondary and High School. Third prize went to Hieu Nhon Secondary and High School, Tan Luoc High School, Vinh Long High School.

77 participating teams are students from provinces in the Mekong Delta region.

The "Green Car" project of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Vinh Long) has excellently won the First Prize of The STEM UEH Mekong 2024 competition.

Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said that these are activities in the series of programs to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics - Vinh Long Branch.

On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics also inaugurated and put into operation the Mekong Delta Innovation and Startup Center. Through the competitions, the school hopes to inspire creative ideas, while searching for talents and potential STEM projects to incubate at the center, while also providing consulting support, investment connections, and developing projects.
