(PLVN) - Up to now, the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in Sa Pa town has been basically completed, and the activities of tourist areas and spots in the area have been restored.

According to Mr. To Ngoc Lien, Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee, Sa Pa's viewpoint is to both overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and focus on rebuilding and restoring socio-economic development, especially tourism.

"Up to now, it can be confirmed that passenger, tourist and transport vehicles have reached the commune centers with accommodation service facilities. Food and beverage services have resumed. However, there are still 2 landslides and subsidence points with large amounts of soil and rock in the area. We are coordinating with the Road Maintenance Board of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Transport to complete the handling and soon open the provincial road," Mr. Lien shared.

Previously, Sa Pa town had established a team to inspect and evaluate the facilities to ensure conditions for welcoming guests. Along with overcoming the consequences, local authorities requested inspections of service facilities to ensure food safety issues after the storm.

The circulation of storm No. 3 has severely affected the Sa Pa National Tourist Area, including the transportation system and safety conditions of tourist attractions in the area. To quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters, restore and develop tourism, Sa Pa town has proactively taken measures.

During the storm's circulation, due to the risk of landslides and subsidence on roads, potentially causing safety risks for vehicles and tourists, Sa Pa town agreed with the Tourism Association to temporarily not receive visitors.
