Tens of thousands of people and tourists braved the rain to attend the opening ceremony of Huong Pagoda festival.

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of February 15 (the 6th day of Lunar New Year), tens of thousands of people and tourists flocked to Huong Son relic site (My Duc, Hanoi) to attend the opening ceremony of Huong Pagoda festival.
Every year, on January 6, the Huong Son national tourist area (My Duc district, Hanoi) attracts tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country to attend the opening ceremony of Huong Pagoda festival. This year, the festival has many new features. The Huong Pagoda Tourism Service Cooperative organizes to transport tourists to the festival with about 3,800 boats, all boatmen wear identification tags and life jackets. Boats carrying passengers are packed on the 4km long Yen stream to visit the scenic Huong Pagoda. The relic site has 10 boat gates to control entrance tickets, ensuring safety for visitors. This year, the price of sightseeing tickets increased from 80,000 VND to 120,000 VND/person, and the boat ticket from 50,000 VND to 85,000 VND/person. Boats and ferries take people to Ben Tro on Yen stream. Statistics show that by 8am, Huong Pagoda welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, and it is expected that up to 30,000 visitors will flock to Huong Son relic site during the day. Each entrance ticket has a QR code printed on it for convenient control and quick entry for visitors without having to wait in long lines.
Since this morning, it has been raining heavily, the way up and down Thien Tru Pagoda is crowded with people wearing raincoats to offer incense and attend the opening ceremony. Many tourists and Buddhists wore ceremonial robes, waiting for the festival to open before entering the pagoda to worship. According to statistics from the relic site management board, in the past three days, Huong Pagoda welcomed about 80,000 visitors, with nearly 40,000 visitors on the 5th day of Tet alone.

People go to Huong Pagoda to visit the scenery and pray for their families' health, luck and peace in the new year. With the innovation in landscape and organization, it is expected that in 2024, Huong Pagoda Festival will welcome about 1.3 million visitors. In 2023, it will be 1.1 million visitors.
