South Korea plans to send military experts to Ukraine
Newspim news agency quoted a source as saying that South Korean officials are discussing sending support personnel to Ukraine as one of the measures to respond to the hypothetical appearance of North Korean troops in a special military operation.

South Korea is reportedly considering a proposal to dispatch a team of specialized intelligence officers and military tactics experts as a response in case of a major incident, according to sources from South Korean intelligence agencies involved in gathering information on North Korea.
“ The experts could take part in interrogations or provide translation assistance if North Korean soldiers are captured in Ukraine. They could be responsible for measures against those who want to infiltrate southern Ukraine ,” the source said.
The source speculated that South Korean experts familiar with North Korea's military tactics and structure could assist Ukraine.
South Korea changes stance on arms supply to Ukraine
The South Korean Defense Ministry allows for various options to change Seoul's stance on supplying weapons to Ukraine, depending on the level of development of cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
“ This situation is being closely monitored not only by the Ministry of National Defense but also by the government and there are various possibilities. I think necessary response measures will be considered and implemented depending on the situation ,” a representative of the South Korean Ministry of National Defense said.
“Overall, we will consider necessary measures and be ready to take various possibilities,” the South Korean defense ministry official added.
Mercenaries in Ukraine “call for help”
Russian Southern Army fighters, citing intercepted communications, say Latin American mercenaries deployed by Ukraine to defend Chasov Yar are demanding evacuation.
The Russian soldier said that this was a group of Spanish-speaking mercenaries. "We eavesdropped and heard many of their evacuation requests, and we learned that there were wounded among them," the Russian soldier said.
Former South Vietnamese soldiers have provided wiretapped recordings of conversations between mercenaries from Colombia.
“ These nasty artillery, grenades, mortars are relentless. I couldn’t sleep all night, I felt like I wanted to tear it apart, ” a mercenary said in the intercepted conversation.
US announces aid to Ukraine
During a visit to Kiev on October 21, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced new arms aid to Ukraine worth $400 million.
This is Secretary Austin’s fourth visit to Kiev and likely his last as Pentagon chief under President Biden. This visit focuses on US efforts to help Kiev strengthen its defenses.
During his meeting with President Zelensky, Secretary Austin also signaled continued US support by announcing additional ammunition, vehicles and military hardware for Ukraine, while declaring no change in Washington's policy.
