Two students from the Ho Chi Minh City delegation participating in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2024 held in the US were solemnly welcomed by leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Education and Training (DET), schools, and families at Tan Son Nhat Airport on the afternoon of May 21 when they just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Le Quoc Bao (class 12CA) and Le Tuan Hy (class 12B), Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, had excellent achievements and won the Second Prize. This is the highest prize that Vietnamese students have won after 12 years since the national science and technology competition was organized nationwide and participated in the International Science and Technology Competition from 2013 to present.
In addition, the project of these two students also received the Special Awards presented by the American Association for Information Technology.
During the preparation for the competition in the United States, the team encountered many problems with paperwork. During the first visa interview on April 25, Nguyen Le Quoc Bao was not approved. The next interview was scheduled for May 30, but the exam date was already past.
At that time, the units had to send an official letter to the US Embassy to ask for support and create conditions for Bao to re-interview on May 8. As a result, Bao was granted a visa and was able to join the group to attend the international science and technology competition. Unfortunately, the instructor could not accompany the student.
However, overcoming many difficulties, the two students confidently demonstrated their abilities in the international arena, bringing proud achievements to the education sector.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung sent congratulations to the two students, their families and the school.
Mr. Dung highly appreciated the students' achievements, which not only demonstrated their personal efforts and the teaching process of the teachers in the school, but also affirmed the continuous innovation process in education and training in Ho Chi Minh City.
From the results of this contest, the city leaders hope that the school will continue to promote its traditions and strengths in training and nurturing generations of excellent and specialized students to participate in high-quality human resources, building a developed city in the era of Industry 4.0.
