Two middle school students jumped into the lake to save a 6-year-old child

On March 18, authorized by the Central Youth Union, Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union awarded the "Brave Youth" badge to Kpuih San (class 7C) and Kpuih Dau (class 6A), both students at Kpa Klong Secondary School (Ia Pia commune, Chu Prong district) for their brave actions in saving a drowning person.

On February 16, Ro Lan Nghi (born in 2018, residing in Ia Pia commune) followed his parents to work at the Chu Prong coffee farm in Ia Pia commune. While his parents were not paying attention, Nghi went swimming in a nearby lake and unfortunately drowned.

San and Dau were herding cows and fishing nearby. When they discovered the incident, they immediately ran over, jumped into the water and saved Nghi to shore.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union awarded the Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Good People - Good Deeds of February to San and Dau.

The "Brave Youth" badge is a noble award of the Central Youth Union for Youth Union officials, members, youth and children who have brave actions and outstanding achievements in protecting security, national defense, social order and safety, preventing negative phenomena, social evils, protecting and rescuing people and property of the people and the State in urgent situations.
