Overview of the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between Hai Duong province and Suwon city (Korea)

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Hwang In Guk, Deputy Mayor of Suwon City, and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung informed about the socio-economic development situation of Hai Duong province in 2023.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Hai Duong currently has 549 foreign investment projects, with a total capital of over 10.3 billion USD from 27 countries and territories, ranking 4th in the Red River Delta region and 11th nationwide. Among them, there are 126 investment projects from Korea with a total registered investment of 1,462 million USD. Korea is one of the countries with many investment projects in the province, ranking first in the number of projects and third in investment capital among the countries investing in the area.

In 2023, the total value of aid from Korean NGOs to Hai Duong province is about 700,000 USD. Aid from Korean NGOs has brought about practical results, contributing to improving and enhancing the quality of life of people in difficult circumstances in the province.

In recent times, despite the complicated developments in the world situation, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea in general and the friendly cooperation between Hai Duong province and Suwon city in particular have been maintained and increasingly developed comprehensively. The leaders of Hai Duong province always attach importance to and highly appreciate this friendly cooperation relationship.

2024 is an important year, marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of cooperative relations between the two localities. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung believes that on the solid foundation built over the past 20 years, together with the efforts of the authorities and people of the two localities, the cooperative relationship between the two localities will increasingly develop sustainably, expand in many fields and go into depth.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung and Vice Mayor of Suwon City Hwang In Guk signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the following contents: The two sides will jointly carry out delegation exchange activities, youth and citizen exchanges to enhance mutual understanding; promote cooperation, exchange of information and experience in fields such as education and training, trade, sustainable development and many other fields of mutual interest for mutual development.
