On the afternoon of July 1, the Legal Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council reviewed the report on the results of citizen reception, handling of citizen complaints and denunciations, and anti-corruption work in the first 6 months of the year; and orientations and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.
According to the Hai Duong Provincial Inspectorate, in the first 6 months of 2024, citizen reception work in the province has had many positive changes.
At the Provincial Citizen Reception Office, through the citizen reception work, the Provincial Party Secretary and the Provincial People's Committee Chairman directed relevant departments, branches and localities to report, explain and explain to citizens, and have plans to resolve the cases. Many cases were resolved before and within the deadline as directed by the provincial leaders. The results of citizen reception at citizen reception sessions were specifically reported in Hai Duong Newspaper.
In the first 6 months of 2024, state administrative agencies at all levels in the province received 3,941 citizens coming to make complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections, of which 1,994 were regularly received and 1,947 were received by leaders on an ad hoc basis; an increase of 159 over the same period in 2023.
Of the total number of citizen receptions, the provincial level received 699 people (the Provincial People's Committee received 396 people; the Provincial Inspectorate received 10 people; departments and branches received 293 people); the district level received 888 people and the commune level received 2,354 people.
Through reviewing large groups, it was found that the cases that had arisen mainly in previous years had been resolved but citizens had not agreed. Some cases had been announced by the leaders of agencies and units that they would not accept the case, but citizens continued to voice their opinions. Some new cases had arisen but none were prominent or complicated.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the inspection sector has strengthened inspection and made recommendations to rectify and overcome many limitations and shortcomings in implementing laws on inspection, receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations, and preventing and combating corruption.
At the inspection session, the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee highly appreciated the results achieved in receiving citizens, handling citizens' complaints and denunciations, and anti-corruption work in the first 6 months of the year.
The leaders of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee requested the Provincial Inspectorate to absorb the opinions and complete the report to send to the Provincial People's Council before July 4, 2024 to present at the 23rd session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.
