The Hanoi Statistics Office has just announced that in 2024, Hanoi will continue to be voted and honored with many major awards by prestigious tourism organizations around the world. This shows that Hanoi is a leading tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, the total number of tourists to Hanoi for the whole year is estimated at 6.5 million, an increase of 28.2% over the previous year.
International visitors in December are estimated to reach 500,000, up 4.2% over the previous month and 29% over the same period last year; estimated in the fourth quarter of 2024 to reach 1,396,000, up 42.2% over the previous quarter and 26.7% over the same period.
In the whole year of 2024, international visitors will reach 4,512 thousand, an increase of 35.4% compared to 2023. Of which, visitors from Korea will reach 515.5, an increase of 8.9%; China 507.3 thousand, an increase of 64.1%; the US 283.4 thousand, an increase of 19.3%; Japan 269.9 thousand, an increase of 22.6%; the UK 230.5 thousand, an increase of 37.4%; France 210.7 thousand, an increase of 51.1%...
Domestic visitors in December are estimated at 187 thousand, up 3% over the previous month and 31.3% over the same period last year; estimated in the fourth quarter of 2024 at 546 thousand, up 6% over the previous quarter and 17.1% over the same period. For the whole year of 2024, domestic visitors will reach 1,954 thousand, up 14.2% over 2023.
In 2024, in Hanoi, there will be 2,035 international travel service businesses; 493 domestic travel service businesses; 32 tourist transport businesses, 08 representative offices of foreign travel service businesses; 6,198 international tour guides; 2,299 domestic tour guides and 158 on-site tour guides in operation.
By the end of December 2024, there were 97 service establishments meeting standards for serving tourists, including 45 food and beverage service establishments; 43 shopping service establishments; 07 entertainment establishments; 02 health care service establishments.
The system of shopping, dining and entertainment facilities that meet tourist standards has attracted and served a large number of tourists and residents to visit and shop.
