Quang Nam GRDP estimated to grow 7.1%

Kinhtedothi - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung said that the province's economy has recovered and grown compared to 2023, the economic scale in 2024 is nearly 129,000 billion VND.

On the morning of December 4, the 10th term People's Council of Quang Nam province opened its 28th session under the chairmanship of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, as of December 3, after verification, 14/17 targets were estimated to have been achieved and exceeded the Provincial People's Council resolution. The economy recovered positively and grew compared to 2023. The growth rate of gross domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated to increase by 7.1% (in 2023, it was negative 8.4%). The economic scale is estimated at 129 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 16.5 trillion VND compared to 2023. The industrial - construction sector increased by 14% compared to 2023. The service sector grew by 5.8%; tourism activities were vibrant and prosperous, attracting many international visitors.

Estimated state budget revenue is 26 trillion VND, reaching 110.2% of the estimate; revenue structure has changed. Infrastructure continues to receive investment attention; the province has paid much attention to removing difficulties and obstacles for the business community.

Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung said that investment attraction in 2024 will be better than in 2023, with 29 new domestic investment projects granted, with a total registered capital of VND4,915 billion. 10 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of USD134.85 million were granted.

There are 1,157 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of over VND226.89 trillion and 201 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of USD6.36 billion. The number of newly registered enterprises is 1,008 with a total registered capital of VND5,810.8 billion, up 4.3% (VND236.9 billion); the number of enterprises returning to operation is 458, up 15.1%.

In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee has set out 19 socio-economic development targets and 9 key groups of solutions for implementation. In particular, the group of solutions to promote growth model transformation, economic restructuring; improve productivity, quality, efficiency, autonomy, adaptability, competitiveness, and rapid and sustainable socio-economic development is emphasized.

Quang Nam continues to promote the implementation of 3 strategic breakthrough tasks more effectively, forming products that create new momentum and resources for development. The province's GRDP in 2025 is expected to increase by 9.5 - 10%; the local budget revenue will reach 24,200 billion VND.

In addition to the achieved results, there are still many difficulties and challenges, such as the economic growth rate has not met the set plan. The progress of investment projects is still slow; the disbursement rate of public investment capital is low. Production development associated with product linkage according to the value chain is still limited, poverty reduction is not really sustainable...
