Over the years, the Military Command of Van Giang district (Hung Yen province) has always proactively coordinated with the Party Committee, government, departments, branches and organizations to create favorable conditions, support and help the families of militia soldiers to stabilize their lives, develop the economy, thereby enthusiastically participating in training and performing tasks in the locality.
We visited the family of Nguyen Duc Phuc, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Xuan Quan Commune (Van Giang District) and were impressed by the ornamental garden of over 700m2 with all kinds of flowers and bonsai trees. Mr. Phuc said: “Previously, I was a freelancer, the job was hard, unstable and the income was low. 5 years ago, comrades in the Military Command of Xuan Quan Commune came to my house to encourage me and took me to visit some ornamental tree business models in the area, so I decided to borrow money to open a garden. In recent years, the ornamental tree market has been popular, so the garden has brought in about 160 million VND in profit each year, my family's life has become more comfortable thanks to selling trees."
Not only Mr. Phuc's family, currently in Xuan Quan commune, there are many families of militia soldiers who are also doing the ornamental plant business, living a comfortable life, some families even get rich from this profession. To support and help each other in business, militia soldiers in the commune regularly exchange and share experiences in planting, caring for and finding outlets for ornamental plants. In particular, knowledge and experience in making ornamental plants are also readily shared by militia soldiers with their teammates if needed. This not only supports and helps each other develop the economy but also builds solidarity and cohesion among militia soldiers in the commune.

Based on the characteristics of citizens of militia age who are the main laborers and economic pillars of their families, when the family economy is stable, militia soldiers will not have to work far away in other places. This contributes significantly to helping localities ensure the number of militia members participating in concentrated training sessions or performing tasks, especially sudden tasks such as on-duty combat readiness; preventing and fighting natural disasters in the area.
Understanding that, the Military Command of Van Giang District always proactively advises the District Party Committee to direct localities to prioritize militia forces, especially those in difficult circumstances, to borrow capital at preferential interest rates for economic development. The unit closely coordinates with a number of businesses in the area to create favorable conditions for job placement for militia soldiers and demobilized soldiers. In addition, the commune-level military agency regularly organizes for militia forces to visit and study effective economic development models in the region; encourages militia soldiers to share experiences and support each other in business.
The joint participation of local Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations, especially promoting the core role of military agencies at all levels in providing material support and spiritual encouragement, has helped improve the lives of the militia force in Van Giang district; thereby, they can confidently carry out their tasks. In recent years, the locality has always ensured that the number of militia participating in training reaches over 96%; 100% of the final examinations of all subjects and subjects meet the requirements, with the good and excellent rates ranging from 74 to 76%. In particular, the solidarity and cohesion among militia soldiers have been strengthened; contributing to building the local militia and self-defense force to be increasingly "strong and widespread".
