Speaking at the opening report, Colonel Nguyen Trung Dac, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Division 316, emphasized that Uncle Ho's Soldiers is a familiar and affectionate name that the people have bestowed upon the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army. Uncle Ho's Soldiers have gathered the good moral and cultural qualities of the Vietnamese people in the new era. Therefore, there is a complete objective basis to affirm that the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers is a typical and distinctive military cultural feature that has contributed to enriching the cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people over the past 8 decades, and is worthy of being proposed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), from the beginning of July 2024 to now, the People's Army Newspaper has opened the Forum column "The title of Uncle Ho's soldiers - Deserving of being a national intangible cultural heritage". The forum has attracted and published dozens of articles by prestigious experts, scientists, generals, and artists on the origin, meaning, and value of the title of Uncle Ho's soldiers, thereby contributing to helping readers have a more comprehensive, profound, and richer view of the fine traditions of the Vietnam People's Army and the outstanding characteristics of the qualities and personalities of Uncle Ho's soldiers. The articles in the forum not only have theoretical and scientific value, but also contain very practical and useful traditional history education content.

At the discussion, Captain Do Khac Trinh, Battalion Commander of Battalion 9, Regiment 98, Division 316, expressed that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh was the one who directly founded, organized, educated and trained our Army; always cared about and took care of building the Army to become an absolutely loyal and trustworthy force of the Party, the Fatherland and the people. It was this close, flesh-and-blood bond that created the premise for the birth of the noble title "Uncle Ho's Soldiers". That has been proven right from the name.

Captain Khac Trinh also shared more about the reality at Regiment 98, the relationship with the people is regularly demonstrated through twinning activities with the locality where the unit is stationed. Organizing annual volunteer activities, helping families with revolutionary contributions, organizing meaningful programs such as "Wings of dreams to bring children to school", helping children in difficult circumstances continue to go to school. Recently, there was an extremely typical and meaningful activity, which was that the Regiment directly sent nearly 300 officers and soldiers to participate in search, rescue, and overcoming the consequences of rain and storms in Lang Nu, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.

Despite adverse weather conditions and facing numerous dangers, officers and soldiers of the Regiment overcame difficulties, were not afraid to sacrifice themselves, and worked tirelessly day and night to carry out rescue missions, promoting the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, and were recognized and loved by local people...

Continuing this story, Captain Nguyen Van Trieu, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 8, Regiment 98, was also very emotional when mentioning the recent search and rescue operation to Lang Nu (Bao Khanh Commune, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province). Captain Trieu confided: Through those trips, the title of Uncle Ho's Soldier encouraged each soldier to become an example for the people, not only in political activities, but also in practical work. Programs to help people in remote areas, or activities aimed at the people, clearly show the image of Uncle Ho's Soldiers always for the people, for the country...

Directly performing his duty in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province, Private Tran Minh Thao, Company 6, Battalion 8, emotionally said: After a period of helping people overcome the consequences of the recent natural disaster, the people's trust in the army has been further strengthened, the army is truly a spiritual support for the people. Saying goodbye to the people of Lang Nu, both we and the people cried, seeing the eyes filled with gratitude, trust and affection of the people, we realized that more clearly. Uncle Ho's soldiers are always present in the most difficult and dangerous places to help the people, that is the noble political and moral value of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

Also at the discussion, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Cuong Son, Political Commissar of Regiment 98, emphasized: Officers and soldiers of Regiment 98 always follow the forum "The title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers deserves to be proposed for recognition as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage" organized by the People's Army Newspaper. Officers and soldiers are aware that this is a broad political activity, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. Sharing and agreeing with the opinions expressed at the discussion, Colonel Le Ngoc Long said that the opinions affirmed: The title of Uncle Ho's People's Army is a noble title, rich in humanistic meaning. The title of Uncle Ho's Army is the inheritance and crystallization of the typical moral and cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people; at the same time, it is a unique military cultural value in the Ho Chi Minh era.

Sharing the same opinion, Colonel Nguyen Trung Dac emphasized: Preserving and promoting the value of the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers has great significance in the cause of building the Army and protecting the Fatherland. This is an important basis for recommending and proposing to the competent authorities and authorities to recognize the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers as a national intangible cultural heritage.
