TPO - In recent days, tulips have been sought after by many young people to grow as home decorations. Many traders import flowers to sell, earning tens of millions of dong each day.
These days, young people are whispering to each other to buy tulips to decorate their homes. |
On Hoang Hoa Tham street in recent days, tulip shops are always packed with young people waiting to buy flowers. |
Tulips originated from abroad and were introduced to Vietnam about ten years ago. |
There are about 150 species of tulips, and they come in a wide variety of colors. The flowers have six petals, usually bell-shaped or star-shaped. The petals can be smooth, fringed, or ruffled. |
Tulips are considered to have a unique, distinct beauty that brings a pleasant feeling and usually bloom from April to May. |
Ms. Mach Thi Truong, a tulip vendor on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, said that since the beginning of the season, her family has imported a large quantity to sell every day, sometimes selling until after midnight and still having customers. |
"On average, my shop sells about 2,000 - 3,000 plants per day. The price of each plant ranges from 25,000 - 30,000 VND, a flower pot costs 15,000 VND. Mostly young people come to buy them to decorate their homes. This is a very easy plant to care for, just plant it in soil and water it or grow it hydroponically and the plant will survive." |
Ms. Truong said that this is a type of plant that prefers cold climates and does not like sunlight, so when you bring it home to plant, you need to keep it in the shade and not put it in direct sunlight. If the grower knows how to care for it, it can be enjoyed for half a month after the flowers bloom. |
Currently, Mrs. Truong's shop sells tulips in many different colors such as pink, purple, orange, red, yellow, white. Besides, there is also a type of double tulip that is also very popular with young people. |
The group of young people said that their colleagues introduced them to a place that was both cheap and beautiful, so after work, they stopped by to buy it. Dang Thu Huong said that each tulip tree at the store cost only 25,000 VND, and the soil was free, but the group did not take the soil because they planned to put it in a vase of water. |
Nguyen Thuy Linh (Dong Anh, Hanoi) shared: "The other day, while surfing TikTok, I happened to see a friend buying tulips to plant. They looked very pretty, so today I invited her to come here to buy some too. Unfortunately, I arrived a bit late so the shop ran out of flowers and I could only buy one plant." |
Many young people stood in line waiting to buy flowers. |
