In Phu Yen, on April 8, Sunflower Mission coordinated with the Phu Yen Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations to award 147 scholarships to primary school students in Tay Hoa and Tuy An districts. Of which, Tay Hoa district had 89 students from three primary schools: Hoa My Dong, Hoa My Tay and Hoa Phu receiving scholarships; Tuy An district had 58 students from An Hiep primary school receiving support. The total value of the scholarships was nearly 173 million VND.

Previously, on March 3-4, Sunflower Mission coordinated with the Union of Friendship Organizations of Kien Giang province to award 208 scholarships to poor but excellent students at 6 schools in the districts of Go Quao, U Minh Thuong, Hon Dat, Kien Luong and Giang Thanh. The scholarships are divided by level of education, including: primary school (VND 1 million/scholarship), middle school (VND 1.45 million/scholarship) and high school (VND 1.8 million/scholarship), with a total cost of more than VND 272 million.
In addition to awarding scholarships, Sunflower Mission representatives had a meeting with school principals to agree on a mechanism to monitor the academic performance of students receiving support. The organization is committed to continuing to accompany students studying in middle and high school until they finish their studies. Students with difficult circumstances but achieving excellent results will be considered for individual scholarships, including when studying at university, if they meet the requirements.

Sunflower Mission is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in the United States in 2002 with the goal of supporting education in Vietnam. In addition to the annual scholarship program, the organization also sponsors facilities, teaching and learning materials for schools in remote areas. At the same time, Sunflower Mission also provides leadership development programs for Vietnamese students in the United States.
