According to analysts, investors remain cautious about any escalation of tensions in the Middle East. With the geopolitical situation showing no signs of cooling down, oil prices could rebound.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday that the United States intends to carry out further strikes against Iran-backed groups in the Middle East. The United States and Britain have already carried out strikes on 36 Houthi targets in Yemen. These tensions have been supportive of oil prices.
On February 3, two Ukrainian drones attacked the largest oil refinery in southern Russia, the world's second largest oil exporter.
Although the fire was quickly extinguished and operations at the plant have resumed, many fear that such attacks will continue, posing certain risks to oil supplies from Russia.
Last week, world oil prices “plummeted” by nearly 7%, marking the sharpest weekly decline since the beginning of the year and breaking the upward trend of the previous two weeks.
