Recorded at the intersection of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway (Km1717+593 National Highway 1) through Ham Kiem Commune, Ham Thuan Nam District, since early this morning, due to the large number of vehicles from the Central provinces and tourists traveling from Phan Thiet City back to Ho Chi Minh City entering the Ba Bau intersection to get on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, the traffic has increased, causing overload.

Faced with the above situation, the traffic police closed the entrance and regulated all vehicles to continue moving on National Highway 1, helping to stabilize traffic flow on Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, avoiding congestion.

Meanwhile, at intersections and main roads through the area, vehicles had to queue up in long lines, making it difficult to move through the area.

Traveling on National Highway 1, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang (residing in Tien Giang province) said that his family went to Phan Thiet city for a vacation, and this morning had to return to his hometown to rest and prepare to go to work on the first day of the new year. Due to the heavy traffic, he could only travel at 30-40km/h.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Binh Thuan Province Police said that it is forecasted that by the end of February 2, the traffic volume on both the expressway and National Highway 1 passing through the province will continue to increase. Therefore, the Traffic Police will continue to mobilize maximum forces to regulate and divert traffic to facilitate people's travel.
