Gasoline prices on the world market continued to increase last week, marking the third consecutive week of escalation.

Recorded on Oilprice at 4:00 a.m. on March 31, 2025 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 69.04 USD/barrel, down 0.80% (equivalent to a decrease of 0.56 USD/barrel).

Similarly, Brent oil price was at 73.38 USD/barrel, down 0.54% (equivalent to a decrease of 0.40 USD/barrel).

Brent crude has risen more than 7% since its low in early March, while WTI has also risen more than 6%. Analysts say that despite trade tensions and rising recession risks, oil demand remains stable.

The trade war has investors worried about a possible recession, but JPMorgan analysts said that despite the heightened risk of a recession, high-frequency oil demand indicators remain relatively healthy.

President Trump recently imposed a new 25% tariff on potential buyers of Venezuelan crude. The move has led to reports that India’s Reliance Industries, which operates the world’s largest refining complex, will stop importing oil from Venezuela following the tariff announcement, sources said.

The tariffs could exacerbate an expected 200,000 bpd decline in Venezuelan crude production this year, adding uncertainty for buyers and disrupting Venezuela’s oil trade with top buyer China, Singh said.

Another factor that could add to supply concerns comes from the United States, where President Trump is seeking to ease regulatory red tape to allow oil producers to pump more oil. But the challenges facing U.S. oil producers are geological in nature as the country’s top oilfield ages, producing more water and gas and less oil, and may be nearing peak production.

Domestic retail gasoline prices on March 31, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on March 27 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND337/liter, to VND20,032/liter; RON 95 gasoline increased by VND337/liter, to VND20,424/liter.

Similarly, the price of diesel 0.05S: increased by 324 VND/liter, to 18,217 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 406 VND/liter, to 18,524 VND/liter; mazut 180CST 3.5S decreased by 53 VND/kg, to 16,902 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and mazut oil.

Thus, from the beginning of 2025 to now, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 13 adjustment sessions, including 5 decrease sessions, 5 increase sessions and 3 opposite sessions.
