Pepper price today, December 12, 2024, domestic pepper price is stable at a high level and has not fluctuated compared to the previous day. Currently, the average purchase price in localities is at 146,000 VND/kg. Specifically, the pepper purchase price in Gia Lai province is at 145,000 VND/kg; similarly, the pepper price on December 12 in Binh Phuoc province is at 145,000 VND/kg; pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is at 146,000 VND/kg; pepper price in Dak Lak is at 147,000 VND/kg; only pepper price in Dak Nong is the highest at 147,200 VND/kg.

In Vietnam, prolonged rains after a severe drought earlier this year have generally been favorable for pepper production. According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), many farmers are now cultivating organically, using clean and safe materials.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, to develop clean and safe raw material areas, many farming households and cooperatives in Chau Duc district have linked up to produce organic pepper, targeting the export market.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Comprehensive Rich Organic Cooperative shared that the majority of members of the cooperative are farmers who have been growing pepper for many years. Thanks to the propaganda and mobilization of the District Farmers' Association, 7 farmer households in the district, Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City have joined together to produce organic pepper, with the desire to increase product value and move towards sustainable production.
Since its inception, the cooperative has zoned off nearly 50 hectares of adjacent farming households in Xuan Son, Son Binh and Suoi Rao communes to form a raw material area. Participating households must comply with technical instructions and strict supervision by the cooperative's environmental control board.

In addition, recently, the National Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Nong province organized the Forum "Sustainable pepper cultivation solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Dak Nong province".
Dak Nong currently has more than 34,000 hectares of pepper, with an average yield of about 2.4 tons/ha; total annual output reaches about 70,000 tons/year.
Dak Nong pepper ranks first in the Central Highlands and the whole country in terms of area; ranks second in the country (after Dak Lak) in terms of output. Pepper acreage is most concentrated in Dak Song, Dak R'lap, Dak Mil.
Dak Nong aims to maintain about 34,000 hectares of pepper by 2025, with an output of about 73,000 tons/crop; by 2030, the area will reach about 33,600 hectares, with an output of over 73,000 tons/crop. The province will establish and develop 4 high-tech pepper production areas, concentrated production areas, with a total area of 3,049 hectares in key pepper production areas.

World pepper price Today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) at 4:30 a.m. on December 12 as follows: At the end of the most recent trading session, the world pepper market decreased compared to the previous update, in which the Vietnamese market was stable, slightly decreased; the Indonesian and Brazilian markets fluctuated.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,822 USD/ton (down 13 USD/ton); similarly, the price of Muntok white pepper was at 9,115 USD/ton (down 18 USD/ton) compared to the previous trading session.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper continued to decrease, currently at 6,250 USD/ton (down 25 USD/ton) compared to the previous trading session. Meanwhile, pepper prices in Malaysia remained stable compared to the previous trading session; the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper was at 8,200 USD/ton, the price of ASTA white pepper was at 10,400 USD/ton.
Of which, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper continued to be stable and slightly decreased at 6,300 USD/ton for 500 g/l, 550 g/l remained at 6,600 USD/ton; the price of white pepper remained unchanged at 9,400 USD/ton.

Currently, the United States is the largest export market for Vietnamese pepper, reaching 67,802 tons, up 41.1% and accounting for 28.8% of the total export volume of Vietnamese pepper. Next are the UAE markets, up 42.7%, accounting for 6.6%; Germany, up 67.7%, accounting for 6.0%; the Netherlands (41.8%), South Korea (34.8%), Pakistan (34.5%), Canada (19.7%), Russia (15.5%), the UK (14%)... China is the 6th largest export market for Vietnamese pepper, but this market decreased by 83.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
