Today, February 5th, 2025, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region showed little fluctuation. Market volume was low, and fresh paddy and various types of rice remained relatively stable.

Specifically, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) has decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuates between 5,800 - 6,000 VND; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 6,600 - 6,800 VND; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show that rice is being offered for sale sporadically, and transactions for new rice remain slow. In Bac Lieu , the remaining amount of late-season autumn-winter rice is being harvested gradually, and farmers are offering slightly lower prices compared to yesterday. In Dong Thap, farmers are offering stable prices, and new transactions are slow.

In Can Tho, demand for fragrant rice is sporadic, but the quantity is not large. Traders are buying small quantities for the beginning of the year, and rice prices are relatively stable. In An Giang (Tri Ton), farmers are mainly offering fragrant rice and regular rice, with little OM5451 rice available, and trading is slow. In Soc Trang , there is a decent supply of rice for sale, with most buyers placing deposits before Tet.

Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice is currently fluctuating at 7,700-7,800 VND/kg compared to before Tet; finished IR 504 rice is fluctuating at 9,500-9,700 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice is fluctuating at 7,400-7,500 VND/kg compared to before Tet; finished OM 380 rice is fluctuating at 8,800-9,000 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice has decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating at 8,800-8,900 VND.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,500 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; and dry rice bran is priced at 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.

Observations in various localities today indicate that rice supplies are low, and buying and selling transactions remain slow. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is arriving sporadically, in small quantities; fragrant rice is in high demand but supplies are limited.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), rice supplies are slow, with a high proportion of low-quality rice, and warehouses are buying slowly while rice prices remain stable. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), rice supplies are low, trading remains slow, fragrant rice is scarce, and warehouses are buying fragrant mixed rice sporadically, causing prices to rise slightly.

At retail markets, the prices of various types of rice remain stable compared to yesterday. Currently, regular rice ranges from 16,000 to 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is 405 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 380 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is 318 USD/ton.
