According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in 2025, global pepper output is forecast to continue to decrease while stable consumption demand is the driving force for Vietnam's pepper exports this year.

Experts say pepper prices may continue to rise in the short term, especially if China, one of the largest customers of Vietnamese pepper, increases imports again. However, pepper prices may stagnate as supplies from the new harvest are gradually replenished.

Therefore, businesses need to closely monitor market developments and purchasing movements from partners to have appropriate purchasing, storage, and cash flow plans, both to increase output and export turnover and to ensure business efficiency.

Farmers in Dak Nong province harvest their pepper.

Currently, local farmers are focusing on harvesting pepper. Most of them are excited because the pepper price is high. This has motivated them to continue investing, taking care of their pepper gardens, and improving product quality.

However, pepper productivity in some areas has decreased due to the impact of unfavorable weather. According to statistics, after a series of consecutive increases since the Lunar New Year, domestic pepper prices have been adjusted down for 3 consecutive days, currently the average pepper price in key areas is below 160,000 VND/kg.

In recent years, the high price of pepper in Dak Nong is mainly due to the fact that people pay attention to applying science and techniques to properly care for pepper. Farmers pay attention to the stages of harvesting, drying, and preserving agricultural products, thereby improving product quality and selling at higher prices.
