Impersonating Vietnam Television to lure children into transferring money to participate in TV shows

Many parents reported being tricked into transferring money to register their children to participate in the reality TV show Childhood Journey, broadcast on VTV3, Vietnam Television. Accordingly, the scammers created a fake Fanpage, claiming to be the program organizer and "asking" parents to connect via Zalo to meet the company's specialists for support.

Vietnam Television's family is willing to transfer money to their children to participate in the TV show 1 — The official and only fanpage of "Childhood Journey".

Through social networks Facebook and Zalo, the subjects lured parents to transfer money worth several million VND to register their children to participate in the program. The reason given by the subjects was that "the program only supports food for the children, sending money to support the team".

At the same time, the program's editor also confirmed that he did not inform any parents about this issue. The program's official Fanpage also clearly states that registration to participate in the program is completely free.

In season 2, the program accepts online applications. The program's participants are children aged 6 - 11, agile and active. Parents only need to send an application including the following information: Child's full name, age, hobbies, talents (if any), a video showing the child's talent (if any), and a self-introduction (filmed with parents). The program only uses one Fanpage, Du Hanh Tuoi Tho (https://www.facebook.com/DuHanhTuoiTho). Parents can send their applications via this Fanpage and contact the program's editor (Le Thao) via phone number 0943113669 for details on the filming schedule of their children if selected to participate in the program.

"Childhood Journey" will air season 1 in April 2022. The program brings children "journeys" to attractive entertainment venues, experience skills and many cultural aspects of life. From there, the production team hopes to help children have the opportunity to "travel to grow up", stay away from electronic devices, exercise together and strengthen family ties.
