At the end of the trading session, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor on July 4, 2024 at 4:30 a.m. decreased to 3,629 - 4,058 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery period for September 2024 is 4,058 USD/ton (down 34 USD/ton); the delivery period for November 2024 is 3,902 USD/ton (down 29 USD/ton); the delivery period for January 2024 is 3,737 USD/ton (down 19 USD/ton) and the delivery period for March 2025 is 3,629 USD/ton (down 15 USD/ton).

In contrast, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor on the morning of July 4, 2024 increased, from 217.45 to 224.20 cents/lb. Specifically, the September 2024 delivery period is 224.20 cents/lb (down 1.36%); the December 2024 delivery period is 222.05 cents/lb, down 1.18%); the March 2025 delivery period is 219.80 cents/lb (down 1.26%) and the May 2025 delivery period is 217.45 cents/lb (down 1.32%).

The price of Brazilian Arabica coffee on the morning of July 4, 2024 increased and decreased in different directions. Specifically, the delivery period for July 2024 was 287.35 USD/ton (down 1.44%); the delivery period for September 2024 was 273.00 USD/ton (up 0.11%); the delivery period for December 2024 was 270.15 USD/ton (down 1.13%) and the delivery period for March 2025 was 266.60 USD/ton (down 1.37%).
Robusta coffee traded on the ICE Futures Europe (London exchange) opens at 16:00 and closes at 00:30 (next day), Vietnam time.
Arabica coffee on the ICE Futures US floor (New York floor) opens at 16:15 and closes at 01:30 (next day), Vietnam time.
For Arabica coffee traded on the B3 Brazil floor, it will be open from 19:00 – 02:35 (next day), Vietnam time.
The Brazilian real continued to fall to a new 2.5-year low against the dollar, causing Arabica coffee prices to fall sharply, but today coffee prices have recovered slightly.

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:30 a.m. on July 4, 2024 as follows, according to www.giacaphe.com, domestic coffee prices today increased slightly by 500 VND/kg, ranging from 120,700-122,000 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 121,800 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 122,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai province (Chu Prong) is 121,700 VND, in Pleiku and La Grai the same price is 121,600 VND/kg; In Kon Tum province the price is 127,200 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province the coffee is purchased at the highest price of 122,000 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 120,700 VND/kg.
Coffee prices today (July 4) in Dak Lak province; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at about 121,700 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 121,600 VND/kg.
Dealers noted rising inventories on the exchange and the recent weakness in the Brazilian real were helping to keep a lid on prices, but continued drought in Brazil raised concerns about future production.
Certified graded Arabica coffee stocks held on the New York market stood at 815,176 bags as of July 1, up from 780,583 bags a month earlier.
A report from the Costa Rican Coffee Institute shows that the country's coffee exports from October 2023 to June 2024 decreased by 7.6% compared to the same period last year, reaching only 702,097 bags.
Indonesian government trade data shows coffee exports from Sumatra, Indonesia's top coffee-producing island, fell 53.99% year-on-year in May 2024.
According to the General Statistics Office, Vietnam exported 85,000 tons of coffee in June 2024 and a total of 900,000 tons in the first 6 months of 2024 with a value of 3.2 billion USD.
Vietnam's coffee output in the 2024/25 crop year, which is due to be harvested later this year, is forecast to reach only 29 million bags (including 27.85 million bags of robusta and 1.15 million bags of arabica), down 0.35% compared to the current crop year.
Commodity markets have been volatile over the past two days as speculators await the release of the minutes from the latest policy meeting of the US Federal Reserve.
The New York Stock Exchange will be closed for the Independence Day holiday tomorrow, Thursday (July 4, 2024), while the London Stock Exchange will trade as usual.
