According to the police, due to jealousy of a person named Hung (unknown background), on the evening of August 19, 2022, Dang Van Nhat Hoang texted this person, making an appointment to go to a deserted area in Lien Chieu district (Da Nang city) to fight.

Before leaving, Hoang invited Nguyen Tan Minh Hieu (16 years old) and Le Chan Bao (20 years old, both residing in Man Thai ward), Huynh Ngoc Hai (16 years old, residing in An Hai Bac ward), Ton Hoang Thai Quy, Pham Tan Lit (16 years old, residing in Nai Hien Dong ward), Pham Bao Hung, Ho Ngoc Chung, Nguyen Dang Gia Kiet, Ho Dang Long Quan, Truong Van Hai, Dang Dang Khoa (both 17 years old, both residing in Nai Hien Dong ward), Thai Minh Dung (17 years old, residing in Man Thai ward, Son Tra district).

Hoang's group prepared weapons including three-pronged spears, knives, fire extinguishers, petrol bombs, etc. and then rode motorbikes to the meeting point.

As for Hung, after making an appointment to fight with Hoang, he invited Tran Danh Quyen (17 years old, residing in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district), Truong Cong Quoc (17 years old, residing in Hoa Hiep Bac ward) and some other teenagers to prepare iron pipes to "fight".

At 2:00 a.m. on August 20, when Hoang's group arrived at Nguyen Sinh Sac Street (near the roundabout of Nguyen Sinh Sac and Kinh Duong Vuong Streets), they met Truong Cong Quoc and Tran Danh Quyen (6 people on 3 motorbikes). Seeing that Hoang's group was large, Quoc immediately took Quyen and ran away, but Thai Minh Dung and Truong Van Hai chased after them, holding pig-stabbing knives, injuring 2 people.

Quoc and Quyen continued to run to Nguyen Tat Thanh beach but were stopped, beaten and slashed by other members of Hoang's group.

In the Conclusion of the appraisal No. 1428 dated October 10, 2022 and No. 1535 dated November 28, 2022 of the Institute of Criminal Science in Da Nang City, the injury rate of Tran Danh Quyen was determined to be 11% and Truong Cong Quoc was 13%.

After the investigation and evidence collection process, the Investigation Police Agency of Da Nang City Police issued a decision to prosecute and detain Hoang, Quy, Hung, and Chung to investigate and handle the act of "Murder".
