NDO - FPT will support Canadian companies to develop their markets and explore new business opportunities. In addition, in the next three years, FPT will also connect at least 20 Canadian companies with its member companies to cooperate and expand operations in the Vietnamese market.
Export Development Canada (EDC) and FPT have just signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) within the framework of EDC's premier partner program.
The agreement demonstrates the two parties’ commitment to strengthening trade relations and promoting cooperation in key areas including information and communications technology (ICT), healthcare, retail and financial services, while enhancing environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.
Accordingly, based on its technological strengths and extensive network of strategic partners in Vietnam, FPT will support Canadian companies in developing markets and exploring new business opportunities. In addition, in the next three years, FPT will also connect at least 20 Canadian companies with its member companies to cooperate and expand operations in the Vietnamese market.
EDC will support FPT in accessing a network of export and investment partners in Canada, and jointly provide innovative financial solutions to Canadian companies. At the same time, EDC will share its expertise in ESG standards, contributing to promoting FPT's solutions and initiatives in the field of sustainable development.
The partnership is part of EDC’s Indo-Pacific strategy, which aims to help Canadian businesses increase their international presence and access potential markets like Vietnam. EDC plans to open its first representative office in Vietnam by the end of November.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the result of a partnership between EDC and FPT from 2023, focusing on areas where Canadian businesses can contribute expertise, particularly in software, system integration, and energy optimization for FPT's ever-expanding data processing centers.
“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to helping Canadian companies explore and conquer international markets, especially in Vietnam, one of Asia’s most dynamic economies,” said Todd Winterhalt, Senior Vice President of International Markets and Director of Communications and Public Relations at EDC.
“FPT is a market leader with deep industry expertise and a broad network of partners that can make a positive impact on Canadian exporters and investors as well as the overall trade ecosystem.
Through this MOU, we look forward to opening up new opportunities for cooperation that will benefit both Canadian exporters and Vietnam’s booming IT industry.”
“Through our partnership with Export Development Canada, we look forward to connecting Canadian businesses to the vibrant and promising Vietnamese market. By leveraging our capabilities and deep understanding of the technology sector, we believe we can support Canadian businesses’ ambitions to expand their markets. This partnership is in line with FPT’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and innovation, while further strengthening the relationship between Canada and Vietnam,” said Nguyen Lam Phuong, CEO of FPT Canada, FPT Corporation.
