Accordingly, the 2023 Vietnam - Hau Giang International Rice Festival, with the theme "The 100-year journey of Vietnamese rice", will have festival activities, seminars, competitions, and record-setting activities with the aim of arousing the will and aspiration to develop agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. Along with that, the festival is expected to have more than 700 booths introducing and displaying products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program; culinary delicacies from rice; introducing machines and aircraft serving rice production, etc.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Vietnamese rice road, which is arranged with models planned to be arranged along the Xa No canal. Each model is arranged and set up with its own meaningful message, reflecting Vietnamese intelligence and cultural identity of the Vietnamese people on the path of developing the rice industry in particular and Vietnam's agriculture in general.
The rice road also shows the development process of Vietnam's rice cultivation from a time of famine to the world's number one or two rice exporter; shows the shift from rice production thinking to rice industry economic thinking; introduces integrated models of "rice - shrimp", "rice - fish", "rice - color", which have achieved the goal of minimizing costs, maximizing profits and improving income, enhancing capacity and position for rice farmers in Hau Giang and localities in the region.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, said that relevant sectors of the province will continue to proactively coordinate with relevant sectors of the Central Government in implementing the next tasks, ensuring the successful organization and achievement of the goals set by this rice festival.
