According to Neowin , despite revealing that it hasn't made any money in the past five years, the Epic Games Store still regularly releases at least one free game every week for fans.
This week, the game called Golden Light from indie developer Mr. Pink and publisher HypeTrain Digital is the latest gift from the gaming studio to the gaming community. It will be available to download for free from today until November 16.
Golden Light was developed by two programmers from Russia, with content combining the first-person shooter genre with survival horror, along with roguelike elements. The game's plot tells the story of the main character and his girlfriend enjoying an exciting picnic, suddenly the girl next to him is pulled down to the ground by something.
The player's mission is to chase down the thing that kidnapped the girlfriend and that's when the game really begins. The player will immerse himself in the horror setting of The Gut, facing the attacks of strange creatures and fighting them, among these creatures there are also some bosses. At the same time, the player also needs to search and collect loot to increase his strength.
The Epic Games Store gave away 99 free games last year. The company said those games were worth a total of $2,240, and users requested more than 700 million free games.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said in March that players would be able to experience more premium Epic Games Store exclusives in the future. And in August, the company announced a new Epic Games Store exclusive program.
