The program is organized to respond to Youth Month (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2024). This is also an activity within the framework of the program "Bringing members to traditional art theaters" in 2024 of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and delegates attending the program
Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong shared: Traditional culture and art is the crystallization of the quintessence of Vietnamese national values, reflecting the rich cultural and spiritual life of our people from the past to the present. Art forms such as Tuong, Cheo, Cai Luong, and Water Puppetry have been passed down from generation to generation by generations of artists with the desire to serve the people and art lovers. In the context of international integration, cultural exchange has created many new choices for people's spiritual entertainment life, partly creating a distance from traditional art stages for young people.
With the efforts of the entire cultural sector in recent times, it can be seen that traditional art has gradually found its voice again, traditional art stages, songs, and actors are gradually returning, deeply penetrating the hearts of the public, especially the younger generation. The spectacular turnaround of traditional art is not only due to the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, theaters, and art units, but also thanks to the anticipation and interest of young people when they proactively learn and love as well as proactively create, promote, and enrich the quintessence of their ancestors.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong speaks at the program
Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong also highly appreciated and commended the proposal of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the Program to bring members to traditional art theaters, and the first chosen location is the Vietnam Tuong Theater. The program is a practical and meaningful initiative, contributing to creating conditions for the younger generation to access and understand more deeply the value of traditional art. Through the program, it will open up rich and unique experiences, thereby inspiring love and pride in national culture and art in the hearts of every young person.
The performance is an activity within the framework of the program "Bringing members to traditional art theaters" in 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
"I hope that the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to demonstrate its exemplary role in initiating and implementing activities to bring members to traditional cultural and artistic venues, spreading the love for art in general and traditional art in particular to all Vietnamese youth and union members. In addition, I also hope that the leaders of the Traditional Art Theater sector will continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for youth and union members to have more opportunities to learn about and participate in these meaningful programs" - Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said.
The play "Mother's Love" was restored by the Vietnam Tuong Theater and is a story about the life of revolutionary soldier Le Viet Thuat, one of the typical examples of the Vietnamese revolutionary movement.
The program is a practical and meaningful initiative, contributing to creating conditions for the young generation to access and understand more deeply the value of traditional art.
At the same time, the play also brings the audience back to the period of 1930 - 1931, when the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement attracted tens of thousands of workers and farmers to stand up and fight for the right to be masters and build a new life. To make the revolution, many people sacrificed their personal feelings. That is Mr. Le, Ms. Ly - representing those who sacrificed their love for their ideals; Mother Le devoted her whole life and sacrificed her son for the revolution...
Through the play "Mother's Love", the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes to arouse national pride and love for the homeland and country among the youth union members, while reminding them of the sacrifices of communist soldiers from the early days of preparing to establish the Party and the indomitable spirit of Vietnamese mothers, living forever with the glorious history of the country, ready to sacrifice for the Party, for the independence and freedom of the nation. Through that, the program also reminds the younger generation of their responsibility to preserve and foster the everlasting values of the nation.
Through the play "Mother's Love", the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes to arouse national pride and love for the homeland and country.
In particular, the play "Mother's Love" is also a testament for young artists - youth union members to demonstrate their abilities, to affirm that traditional art has a strong next generation. This is also the generation that will succeed the veteran artists to preserve and promote the values of traditional cultural heritage.
According to Le Minh Duc, Acting Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, linking union activities with expertise is also the policy and task that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Youth Union of Central Agencies set for the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The program will be a key activity of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, implemented from 2024, including a series of propaganda and promotional activities to attract youth union members to traditional art theaters to enjoy art forms such as Tuong, Cheo, Cai Luong, Water Puppetry, etc.
The program attracted a large number of union members and young people to participate.
"In the context of globalization and international integration, with the initiative, creativity and enthusiasm of the youth, each member of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will strive to improve their knowledge and skills, consider themselves as a young cultural ambassador, contribute to preserving and promoting the advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, and excellently perform all tasks assigned by the Ministry and the industry" - Ms. Le Minh Duc added./.
