According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, many countries around the world and Vietnam have proven that cinema is an extremely effective promotional channel for tourist destinations. After each success of a film, the places that were used as the setting in the film become tourist attractions that attract a large number of tourists. "The organizers hope that this forum will open up many opportunities to more effectively exploit the tourism potential of destinations in many localities across the country, including Khanh Hoa province," the leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized.

Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that Khanh Hoa is a coastal province in the South Central region, not only has many famous beautiful landscapes but is also a place that preserves many long-standing cultural traditions, unique architectural works such as Ponagar Tower, Dien Khanh ancient citadel, temples, pagodas, temples of literature,...

With the advantage of favorable weather, favorable terrain and favorable people, Khanh Hoa has always been favored by Vietnamese filmmakers with much love and passion in creation. The beauty of the land, sky, sea and people of Khanh Hoa has left an image in the hearts of many generations of audiences through countless films that will last forever, such as: "Self-defense before dawn", "Returning to the wind and sand", "Beach of life"... of the 80s - 90s; to "Beautiful every centimeter", "Brilliant kisses", "Beauty scheme", "That boy" of recent years.

Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee

According to Mr. Hoang, stories about the land and people of Khanh Hoa conveyed in Vietnamese cinematographic works contribute to effectively promoting the image of Khanh Hoa. In fact, in recent years, many tourists have visited tourist attractions that appeared in an attractive movie. The influence of cinema on tourism must include the films "Pao's Story", "I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass", "Tam Cam: The Untold Story", "Mother's Happiness", "Mat Biec", "Trang Quynh", ... which have contributed to making provinces and cities more attractive in the eyes of tourists.

"I hope that the forum "Vietnam Tourism and Cinema - Linking far and wide, creating momentum for take-off" will help us better understand the importance of linking tourism with cinema. At the same time, in some ways, the films will contribute to promoting and creating an impression of the land and people of Khanh Hoa, promoting the discovery of this land for future tourists", the Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee expected.

According to Ms. Phan Cam Tu, Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA), the report "Travel Trends 2023 by Expedia" shows that 2/3 of global travelers have considered traveling based on inspiration from cinema, and 39% have booked trips based on stories from the screen.

Cinema can play an important role in developing the tourism industry of countries. Films help bring beautiful natural landscapes to audiences and act as a bridge for cultural exchange. In addition, by telling stories about local customs, traditions, festivals and historical events, films create curiosity and interest in viewers. This encourages tourists to explore real places, interact with local communities and immerse themselves in the culture portrayed on screen.

"Not only that, the filming process will include activities such as hiring local film crews, using local services, spending on accommodation and transportation. The money spent on these film activities will stimulate the local economy, create job opportunities and encourage the development of supporting industries such as tourism and transportation. For example, the event of star Marilyn Monroe coming to film in Jasper (Canada) was used to promote tourism for this city. Since then, billions of dollars from film activities have been transferred from the US to Canada when the Canadian government implemented a policy to encourage film production," Ms. Tu informed.

Delegates attending the forum "Vietnam Tourism and Cinema - Linking to reach out, creating momentum for take-off"

Mr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, said that after the movie Indochina, many audiences around the world learned more about the unique beauty of Ha Long (Quang Ninh); after the movie The Lover (L'amant), many people wanted to visit the Mekong Delta; after the movie The Quiet American, people loved and remembered the beauty of old Saigon. After the movie King Kong: Skull Island, people were amazed and wanted to visit the magical beauty of Phong Nha - Ke Bang (Quang Binh)...

According to Mr. Tu, using the backgrounds of typical films that have been loved by audiences up to now has always been the motivation and goal of many countries, many film industries and many tourism businesses. "With the advantage of favorable nature like a miniature Vietnam, Khanh Hoa has both urban landscapes, plains, sea, islands, mountains, forests... very suitable for film crews to exploit images from the available natural landscape, and at the same time can stage, change, and arrange suitable backgrounds for different stories, themes, and film genres. The specific solution is to be interested in allocating land funds, and inviting investors to improve infrastructure, roads, electricity, water... before starting to build special studio backgrounds for cinema", said Mr. Tu.
