This afternoon (September 26), Mr. Vien Hong Tien, Chief of Office of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, said that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has decided to keep the 100-year-old villa (also known as "Mr. Phu's mansion" by the people) located along the river.

Specifically, at the meeting this morning, after listening to reports and discussions from relevant units, the Provincial Party Standing Committee decided to preserve and conserve the "Mr. Phu's mansion" to promote its unique cultural, historical and architectural values.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee assigned the Party Committee of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to develop a specific plan to preserve and promote the value of the villa.

In addition, the locality needs to adjust the plan to implement the riverside route to harmonize with the preservation of relics, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

In recent days, the news that the aforementioned villa was valued at nearly 5.4 billion VND to be demolished to build a road along the Dong Nai River has caused a stir in public opinion. Many people hope to find a solution to preserve the "Mr. Phu's mansion" to become a cultural and tourist destination.

Previously, in 2016, this ancient villa was included in the list of relics ranked by the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes of Dong Nai province, but the people living here did not agree. Therefore, this agency stopped making a dossier of the relic and removed it from the list of dossiers.
